The robot mode is worse than some of the old star wars line. The dirt effect really clashes with the clean parts. Kind of crazy when a cyber battalion jetfire outshines this monstrosity. Hopefully this mold will never get reusues and repaints despite the detailed head and nice jet mode.

Oh....oh, no...
I mean, I had no interest/attachment towards this anyway, but that just looks bad. He looks like he's made out of 3d printer resin so he has no real color, he's mistransformed in half the shots which make his shoulders be too low, he comes with a tiny motorcycle that serves no purpose since he doesn't come with a minifigure or anything to ride it....that is not $50 dollars worth of effort.
The head sculpt is probably the best part of the figure.

I pre-ordered, for now, but I've probably about 1/2 way talked myself into cancelling already. It seems to be a voyager figure, so I'm not sure why the $20 markup instead of the $10 markup Ectotron and Gigawatt got. October is already going to be expensive (SS Blitzwing, Overload and Skipjack, Earthrise Sky Lynx and Scorponok, 2x Centurion Drone and God Neptune, and this is just pre-orders due in October. Sorry wallet)

Owch, expensive month. I've considered dropping my Scorponok preorder if there was something shiny as a sdcc exclusive/s. I'd be interested to see Mavericks transformation. For a premium priced figure they should at least give it underwing markings if it had any.

I have a further attachment to it in that we played "Power of Love" in the school band and for the briefest of moments, I, as the awesome Euphonium player that I was, had a small solo. That was about the only song we played where the Eupho got to shine.
But seriously, watch it. Unlike a lot of other movies from around that time, it really has aged well.

In my case, I did not get the see the films until I was in college (they were before my time), so I have no childhood nostalgia for them, and yet I consider Back to the Future to be the greatest film trilogy ever produced of all time. Fellow Seibertron user, Sabrblade has let us know that Takara Tomy have shared some new pictures of the forthcoming Transformers x Back To The Future collaboration figure, Gigawatt! Accompanying each image was a tweet of information. This is leading up to the moment preorders open for the figure in Japan.
Of course the biggest change that is most noticeably is that the windscreen has been tinted, while in the images seen before, it was clear.

Definitely an improvement! The windshield fixes what was probably the only issue with this guy. So where is this pre-order happening? Since we've yet to hear any information on the North American release.

For all we know the Walmart limited edition could be the exact same as the standard edition. The only difference as far as I know is a different box and a sticker based on the California license plate it had that says “X of 1985”.

Not crazy about the way the painted on "brushed steel" effect looks, looks like someone hand painted it with clumpy silver paint (and maybe they did and the final figure will look better). Just a regular, good silver coating would be fine.

YEEEES! So glad that they fixed that windshield! I absolutely loved this concept when it was first revealed, but the initial photos really turned me off.
