Perhaps because scavenger's treads should be purple?

They are painted but the purple and black is hard to see in the less than favorable lighting.

Course, the only question big enough to match a box of that size is:
Any sign of six extra guns in with him?
Sdcc does not have individual guns for six members there are pictures show inside of box

I think this is in the wrong section, I believe it was meant for the fisher price display.. Right?
I look at the picture you responded to and I honestly do not see anything meriting that kind of a comment. Yes, CW Devy has flaws, but he's impressively articulated for a figure his size and what problems there are do not subtract from his impressiveness. They especially do not deserve to be hated upon at every turn.
Tim is an attention seeker. It's best to ignore him.
No, it's best to address the fact that a great many of the images that we have seen of this thing do, in all honesty, make the combined figure look like a Fisher Price toy. I hate to say it but right from the start that was the exact impression that I got of this thing too and I still hold to that opinion of it even after all of the pictures that have come out since the initial release of this thing. This behemoth is a straight-up Playskool combiner. It may look different once it's actually in a persons hands but if I have to go by pictures, it will never end up in my hands so I fail to see how you can be so dismissive of his viewpoint since obviously he isn't the only one seeing it. I'm not saying that people shouldn't buy it, that's up to the individual and they have every right. I'm just saying that TimR has a right to his opinion and that he's not the only one who shares it and that your dismissal of him as basically being an "attention whore" is b.s.

This Devy is a play arts Kai Kai figure compared to that Optimus.

I mean, yeah there are flaws, and yeah you can point them out...but POINT THEM OUT. Don't just waste space trashing things. Jeez guys. You aren't cool just by being contrary.
While I love G1 I also love new innovations and takes on the characters.
I prefer official Hasbro releases of stuff for the most part
I'm not a huge fan of Japanese original Transformers media or designs.
It's easier for me to say which are my LEAST favorite toy lines: Beast Machines, Robots in Disguise.
TFCon List: Classics Skywarp, General Optimus, BW Airrazor, Transmetal Tarantulus, Alternity Prime, Fire Convoy

A fitting analogy considering how awful Play Arts Kai are.william-james88 wrote:This Devy is a play arts Kai Kai figure compared to that Optimus.

Truth.
Too many fans view this whole thing as some kind of zero-sum game. Like if Hasbro makes these for a certain segment of fans, then they are legitimately taking away from the others.
Well, the inconvenient truth is that any time something gets released, there's going to be those who like it, those who don't, and those who are indifferent. Every dog has their day, so just chill & focus on all the things that Hasbro has released that you DO love. Your turn will come again if you vote with your wallet.
Personally? This Devastator will be mine. Oh yes, it will be mine.

Only the inside of the treads are painted black; if the outsides were also painted black then Bonecrusher and Scavenger would have black legs and that would be both gross and wrong.

That, handguns for the team and purple fists for Devastator would have made the SDCC version perfect.
Woah, if that was indeed their intention, then I would call this a failure. Not a bad deco, but that misses the mark by quite a bit.

I dont understand. Why wouldnt the takara version be even more expensive than this? And have you thought of the import costs when getting it from japan? the shipping will be ridiculous. You can always buy BBTS, but you live in canada right? So let's assume the Takara best case scenario is 200$ US.
Shipping to canada from the states will be 30$ at least. You will be charged 10$ duty and an extra 15% guaranteed tax fee for such a huge purchase/box.
So you would end up paying about 331$ cdn for Takara's instead of about 180$ cdn for the hasbro version at TRU (I am basically cancelling out the taxes with the employee discount). How is this not more worthwhile?

I'd be shocked if a 3rd party didn't offer a set of six blasters, along with anything else a person might want for this set. But I think if you're planning for those additions you've got to factor that into the cost. Settling for the $150 Hasbro retail version and then spending $100 on reprolabels and 3rd party upgrades doesn't make a whole lot of sense in my book - assuming the Takara Version gets you everything you'd want.

I am sure there will be upgrade kits available. But while upgrade kits are fun, pound for pound nothing beats officially licensed exclusive stuff in the secondary market (meaning increased value down the road).

The thing that I keep underestimating is how piss poor our dollar is. It will gravely affect my decision, and probably yours too.
It's so piss poor that it's worse than TRU predicted. Devastator is on preorder for 159.99$ US everwhere which is 196$ cdn, so slightly more expensive than what TRU is asking for.
