Oh I know what you mean, but you'll need a pair of pliers to go with that blow torch.
Well, this is Devastator seems appropriate

Oddly enough, that could be applied to any number of TT figures

I don't have the CW version for comparison, but I can tell you that the PE-06 set has an ever-so-slightly yellower tint to it than the UW Constructicons. It's pretty imperceptible except under the brightest of lights.
I haven't gotten around to taking photos yet, but will upload when I do!

Yup, I know and its not good news. Unite Warriors Devastator is less yellowish and more fluo green than the Hasbro one.

I personally feel that buying Takara's Devastator from a japanese import site pretty much gives you a finished product (thats the option I went for, its easier to deal with and to monitor its increase in value). The other option would be buying a hasbro version for cheap (like 100$) and spending the savings on upgrades.

Has any official talk of a G2 Devastator recolor come along yet? I'm surprised nothing has come out.

The SDCC Devy was rumored to be G2 yellow, but that was before it was confirmed to still be green with shiny purple instead.

What a wasted opportunity that was. With the yellow deco, he would have distinguished himself better among the other versions. As it stands he is just a shiny version of the lesser mold.

Indeed, but I bet, this year, there will be one, all of the other sets are getting the treatment - sans Defensor and Computron at this point; so with that, I bet there will be one somewhere

For me, if I'm going to have one Devastator, I'm going to go big. So, yeah Takara is the way to go. I also picked up the upgrades, so you can judge the colour matching for yourself:

The difference is most evident in the last photo. Honestly, if you're aware of it and are looking close, you're going to notice. But, just having him on the shelf as part of your collection, I still say it's pretty imperceptible.
Also, somewhat torn on the Reprolabel front: with the different paint apps that UW has, not all of the current stickers will be worth it. Maybe they'll make a specific set for Takara's Devy?

In that case, I'm happy to have an official one even if he has less bells and whistles. The Hasbro version has the accuracy and size while Hercules has the articulation and play value. Of course, had I known about official Devastator all the way back, I would've held off Herc, and went for the Takara version.

Both my Takara Devastator and PE upgrade kits came in this week. Absolutely love it, what an amazing figure it is. I was really impressed with the amount of extra bits you get in the PE upgrade kit. The colour difference is very subtle, you can see it most on Scavenger's thing (genuinely can't remember the name for it), but it's barely noticable.
