Honestly, I think the designers have done a fantastic job. Combined mode is awesome, and the individual bots look great as well.

It'll be funny 5 to 10 years from now to see all the posts about Devastators falling because the replacement arms on Scrapper finally gave out.

Watching that video basically cements in my mind how awesome these guys are. They definitely have their problems, but I can deal with their shortcomings for the price. They also seem to have more individual articulation than many people initially gave them credit for, so kudos for that. Scrapper and Long Haul are the obvious exceptions, but we Scrapper at least it's totally understandable. Long Haul, I feel like they could have figured out a way to give him traditional elbows that also go side to side but what do I know about toy engineering? Regardless, can't wait to see the combining video and to own these myself.

I actually was planning to get Combiner Wars Cyclonus, but I thought if I am ever gonna get Devastator, I better start saving up now! :ic$:

I like how Cyclonus looks, but Devastator is my favorite combiner, obviously I'm gonna get the green guy!

I'm a Vehicon now lol. What is the next level?

Allspark.com was kind enough to capture and upload them to YouTube; however, they are very low resolution (240p - effectively VHS quality).

You don't have to worry, I'm not a spammer. ;)

I just think it's funny when I change level because I don't really care. I just comment when I want to. :HEADHURTS:

Back the the green guy himself. I actually was planning to get Cyclonus soon, but if I am ever gonna get Devastator, I have to start saving up now!

You know, something freaky happened to me before they announced this guy. So I was just sitting around, and I said to someone, "you know, I would love a Combiner Wars Devastator," then the VERY NEXT DAY, they announced this guy! I took it as a sign that this guy is for me. :P

I almost fainted... (:|

To be honest, I'm not a big fan of this set, and think it's the weakest Combiner Wars team so far. Combined mode is fine, although WAY too big (IMO), but those individual bot modes are really lackluster to me.

I'm the kinda guy that displays his teams mostly in their individual bot modes, and so far I'm not impressed enough to put these guys on my shelf as of now. I'm really hoping the TakTom version will blow me away so I can like these like everyone else does.

I think Scavenger and Bonecrusher look excellent. The other look a little weak, but they serve a purpose. ;)

Yeah Scavenger and Bonecrusher are definitely the strongest, based on seeing their transformations in those videos. It's like the designers started with them, blew through their allotted budget and had to phone in the other four.

At least they make a sturdy combined mode, and in general, they look solid. Nothing looks loose, and they have FAIRLY good articulation for a combiner! Oh yeah, and ANKLE TILTS! YAY!

I think it's mostly structural, honestly. The integrity of (arguably) weaker cons like Long Haul and Scrapper have much to do with keeping that huge combined mode steady. The arms have fewer constraints in that department.

Right! As long as the lack of articulation has a purpose, then I am fine with it! ;)^ Now Generations Skybite on the other hand...

What's wrong with Skybyte, he was amazing! Aside from his right arm, I wa really blown away, especially in his takara deco.

Image

Back to Devastator, I think Megatronus is right on the money. The arms dont contribute as much to structural integrity and are allowed more articulation on the single figures.

But you know, from that price point, I think everything is fine. Metroplex cost 130$. This guy might be a bit smaller, but the engineering on him is INSANE compared to Metroplex, who I find quite a let down as a Transforming figure (while he is an awesome figure of a Transformer, there's a difference)! This Devastator is a near perfect representation of G1 come to life and all this for just 20$ more than Metroplex. Sounds like a steal to me.

Devastator is my favorite combiner, little nitpicks are not gonna sway me away from this guy. They put TOO MUCH WORK INTO THIS for me to judge the minor issues. Even though I don't have this guy(s) yet, I'm gonna give him a 10 out of 10. :PEACE:

Devastator was my first combiner, and the Constructicons were some of my first "new" (not yard sale) figures when I was a kid. I've passed on literally every other Devastator because it just wasn't Devastator to me. I'm in your boat SS, he's 10 out of 10 already to me, just gotta see which one gets my money!!

ah. either way he seems good enough for me.

also i like that devastator's right foot (mixmaster) has the windows painted on the foot even though he is a front dispensing cement truck. nice touch. :APPLAUSE:

Yes, is is the only combiner that I REALLY wanna get. He was my favorite from the show, gotta pick em up! I also like Bruticus and Predaking, but Devy is my all time fave! :)

Thank you Hasbro for making the Constructicons 6 voyager sized figures!

Doubt it. People who have it in hand have shown the box I think. Maybe reprolabels will do a set? I've never bought a set of them, but I'd be happy to have some stickers to improve Devastator.

ah. either way he seems good enough for me.

also i like that devastator's right foot (mixmaster) has the windows painted on the foot even though he is a front dispensing cement truck. nice touch. :APPLAUSE:

Agreed! I think he looks good enough how he is, although Reprolabels wouldn't hurt. ;)

Woah, the mean green machine's got ankle tilts even in Combined Mode!

Edit: Holy Poorly Optimized Videoplayer Batman! This is a nightmare to watch. I've gotten as far as Hook on top of Long Haul's Shoulders and the thing has given out completely.
