Burn wrote:The individual bots look bloody fantastic and I think have more articulation than people were expecting. Yeah, Scrapper has no elbows, but as I said from the start, and looking at him from behind, it's purely for stability issues.
Honestly, I think the designers have done a fantastic job. Combined mode is awesome, and the individual bots look great as well.

Your rank is irrelevant, if you care about your post count then make it mean something. Quality over quantity.

I'm the kinda guy that displays his teams mostly in their individual bot modes, and so far I'm not impressed enough to put these guys on my shelf as of now. I'm really hoping the TakTom version will blow me away so I can like these like everyone else does.

I think Scavenger and Bonecrusher look excellent. The other look a little weak, but they serve a purpose.

Yeah Scavenger and Bonecrusher are definitely the strongest, based on seeing their transformations in those videos. It's like the designers started with them, blew through their allotted budget and had to phone in the other four.

I think it's mostly structural, honestly. The integrity of (arguably) weaker cons like Long Haul and Scrapper have much to do with keeping that huge combined mode steady. The arms have fewer constraints on that department.

What's wrong with Skybyte, he was amazing! Aside from his right arm, I wa really blown away, especially in his takara deco.
Back to Devastator, I think Megatronus is right on the money. The arms dont contribute as much to structural integrity and are allowed more articulation on the single figures.
But you know, from that price point, I think everything is fine. Metroplex cost 130$. This guy might be a bit smaller, but the engineering on him is INSANE compared to Metroplex, who I find quite a let down as a Transforming figure (while he is an awesome figure of a Transformer, there's a difference)! This Devastator is a near perfect representation of G1 come to life and all this for just 20$ more than Metroplex. Sounds like a steal to me.

Devastator is my favorite combiner, little nitpicks are not gonna sway me away from this guy. They put TOO MUCH WORK INTO THIS for me to judge the minor issues. Even though I don't have this guy(s) yet, I'm gonna give him a 10 out of 10.

I wouldn't be THAT hopeful, Springer. Even though I'm excited as well, I will acknowledge he has some flaws, and I never judge figures unless they're in hand.
Devastator was my first combiner, and the Constructicons were some of my first "new" (not yard sale) figures when I was a kid. I've passed on literally every other Devastator because it just wasn't Devastator to me. I'm in your boat SS, he's 10 out of 10 already to me, just gotta see which one gets my money!!SillySpringer wrote:True, but I'm still getting em.Moosey wrote:I wouldn't be THAT hopeful, Springer. Doubt it. People who have it in hand have shown the box I think. Maybe reprolabels will do a set? I've never bought a set of them, but I'd be happy to have some stickers to improve Devastator.

ah. either way he seems good enough for me.
also i like that devastator's right foot (mixmaster) has the windows painted on the foot even though he is a front dispensing cement truck. nice touch.
