william-james88 wrote:While those pics are at TFW, that's not the actual source (they dont have anyone on hand and all the pictures are from either twitter or facebook accounts). And there are clearly more where those came from. If anyone finds them, please send them to us.
For now here are those pics that I guess will make all the difference. So the interest in the SDCC version must have dwindled right? This is not at all like the Metroplex deal where the difference between all versions is a few paint apps. There is some serious engineering at play here.

Does Seibertron have someone at the Tokyo Toy Show? Some of these same pictures are in another thread witht he Seibertron watermark, and according to TFW, there is a board member at the TTS who's at least commenting on these things. Can't Seibertron only watermark pictures that Seibertron itself produces? If these are just from Twitter and such places for TFW, then how is Seibertron staff taking them and watermarking them?
shajaki wrote:The ones we posted were from Alfes2010 (who was credited), are slightly different than those you posted, and I watermarked them by accident. I posted many things yesterday

Neither Seibertron nor TFW have a staff member at the show. Everyone is at Botcon this week-end instead and all pictures come from facebook or twitter.

Hey dude its all good. You asked a good question that other people might have had and I took the opportunity to answer it. I wish we had someone on site in Tokyo. I would gladly volunteer to go if my plane and hotel was paid for

Not sure how much more he'll cost, particularly if you're from the UK (I think you are, aren't you?). Depends on how easily available he becomes.
If you look at the price of the Takara Leader class figures and Unite Warriors sets that have come out, they're only a few quid more than Hasbro's versions (and generally more accurate to boot). The only exception being Defensor who, because of Groove, is a whopping 30 quid more. That's only because it's being touted as an exclusive. Kapow have already said that if Defensor becomes available at general retail, rather than exclusive, his price will go back down. If Devestator is an exclusive then he may end up costing a good £30-40 more than Hasbro's, in which case it may not be worth the extra cash considering it isn't a whole mould change, just paint apps and extra elbow joints. However, if he's only a tenner more, for example, then I'd say that's worth it.
I'm going to hold out until I see Takara Devestator's price come out on the UK sites.

I'm in the U.S. so...
I don't know, usually Takara stuff is SUPER EXPENSIVE where I shop online, so I'll just get the Hasbro version, unless the Takara version happens to show up for a good price online.

Fair enough, but in the UK these figures are more expensive even at retailers like TRU. You're looking at about $25 for a Deluxe figure and anywhere up to $47 for a Voyager depending if it's commercial retailer or independent. It's even more expensive on the continent so we've got it lucky in comparison.
The Takara figures are just a little more expensive, but not so much that it's not worth it at the moment. For example, the Leader class CW figures are retailing at about £50 (just under $80), whereas the Takara version are only £5 more for what is generally better paint apps and more accurate detailing.

WOW, Uk is the place to be to get Takara stuff!

Usually the people who would ask those kinds of questions are weeded out and not allowed near the question line and/or are so overcome with newshinnyitis that they forget what they wanted to say.

Maybe one of our trusty news staff could bring it up during their one-on-one interviews that they like to get.

I talked to the designers about this after the reveals panel. I shared this in another thread, but basically it came down to business side making the call, not the designers.
