I see what you mean, but at this point it's not unheard of. CW has already subbed out Slingshot and Wildrider with new characters, so it's still in the air.

Personally, I'm game for whatever. As a fan of the comics Prowlastator would be neat, but an up to date oiriginal 6 Devastator would be cool also and I can see why some might want that more.

If I had to guess, it'll probably be an all Con Devastator, but that might not mean that the team is re-setting in IDW.

Yea, I totally doubt IDW would reset Devastator - Prowl will remain in charge there.

As far as CW replacement limbs... those guys aren't yet known characters in the comics (to my knowledge), so the situation is somewhat different.

I dunno... I'm rooting for a Devastator made up of 6 voyager Constructicons (even 5 voyagers and 1 leader would be acceptable to me) - especially given the gift set nature of the packaging.

I agree.

JSYK, Alpha Bravo has made one appearance in RID #33. When Starscream talks about rebuilding Superion and replacing a mortally damaged Slingshot, he introduces a pair of volunteers: Alpha Bravo and Powerglide. He's really only there for one panel and his one line talks about him volunteering because of his love of Cybertron, hinting at a patriotic personality that (to my mind) we don't often see in Transformers.

Interesting! Thanks for the info. :D

I buy the trade paperbacks, so I'm always a few issues behind. That's pretty cool - I guess we'll also learn where Offroad comes in, in that case.

Haven't heard of Offroad in the comics yet, but I want to see how they deal with Wildrider's departure... Hopefully not killing him off...

Maybe hasbro will have come up with a way to please both wants. As I said before, the next toy show will probably have official hasbro images. It will also be lleaked before that

How about a compromise with Devastator? They can base him off an IDW design, but not a recent one. Rather, the All Hail Megatron-era design:

Image

Throw in a purple chestplate piece to complete the look, since both the original G1 design and the current Prowl-based design have it.

After all, not all of the Generations Thrilling 30 toy were MTMTE/RID-based. Orion Pax was from Spotlight: Blurr, Bumblebee was from the ongoing and his mini-series, Megatron was from the ongoing, Legends class Optimus was from the ongoing, Legends class Megatron was from Megatron Origin, Legends class Starscream was from Thundercracker's ongoing design by Guido Guidi, Arcee was from the G1 cartoon, and several others were original designs that didn't already exist before they got put into IDW (if they did, that is, since some of them didn't even get put into the comics, like Titan Metroplex's design).

Even Takara's Ratbat release was likewise rooted in Megatron Origin (even if the mold itself was just a reuse of Scourge's mold).

I don't mind any comic spoilers either if thats what it takes to answer the questions. Thanks.

I can't explain my stance right now, and even explaining why is a potential spoiler so this is spoiler tagged. I will say that it is still just speculation even with the circumstantial evidence I have to back it up.

Let me expand a little.

It involves several interweaving plotlines based around sentient transforming robots from an alien planet

Hope that clears it up for you.

Wouldn't it be lame if there were like, some tiny versions of these alien robots, that could turn into accessories? That's like making different outfits for Barbie dolls. Totally a thing for tween girls and 10 year old boys.
