At least Wild Wheels' back end looks better designed.

I shouldn't complain too much, still infinitely better treatment than a ton of RiD's characters! Never getting a good Saberhorn, are we

I've now had enough bad experiences with forgetting batteries until they were long corroded that I'd just as soon never see another TF with an electronic gimmick again, but this voice activation feature reminds me so much of those Allspark Tech figures that I foresee these guys mostly showing up in Marshalls and TJMaxx, though Ollie's may also answer said "Battle Call".
Of course, just when the former two stores actually reopen in Michigan, that I cannot foresee.

Shame these are meteorfire and Wild wheel's only toys, they have such cool designs and are getting some mediocre toys. These are 2 of only maybe 6 figures left from the line I want

Probably be the only one I get, and I’d kill for a dark blue, 19th-century US Army Cavalry themed redeco. Still curious how the armor thing works. I know it’s voice activated but how does it pop out?
You may not want to hear this, but the spring-loaded armor is only on the bigger Optimus Prime and Bumblebee, with the rest simply being attached (look at the fins on the shoulders). According to the box, the lights on the figures and sounds on the bigger Prime and 'Bee are voice-activated, but the armors are not. It's possible there are different sounds depending on whether the armor is deployed or not (like a button being kept pressed), but I can't find any clues to that.
I think the spring loaded armor is controlled by the weapons. When they're pulled out from the back they trigger a catch.

I was mainly talking about the toys themselves since those came out long before the show had colored him black.william-james88 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:You know, it just hit me that the black-colored Hot Rod toys in this line might have beem an attempt to homogenize his look with the colors of his live action movie counterpart.

But in the show itself, his black deco wasn't something that he himself chose for any stealth missions. His body was turned black by a toxic pool of energon waste after he inexplicably miraculously survived being dunked in it.

I realized that a while ago, it is nigh identical to the TLK Hot Rod paint job from the Bumblebee legion 2-pack, plus the keeping of red/orange/yellow with the black clearly pointed to him.
It's super cool to see Hot Rod homaged like that, and it made sense in the story

Product Details for Upcoming Transformers Cyberverse Ultimate Class Iaconus
Posted by D-Maximal_Primal Tue Jun 02, 2020 12:32 pm
That figure would be Ultimate Class Iaconus, whom was originally listed back at the very beginning of the year, but has remained in the shadows since, possible due to his role in Season 3 of the show and wanted to coincide with his full reveal. Iaconus is set to arrive in a wave that also includes the previously released Optimus Prime and Shockwave, which means he might be stealthily making his way to shelves soon and not stand out right away.
In the show, Iaconus is described as a War Titan, a Titan who is larger than standard Titans and far more aggressive and fierce. Iaconus' design was previously showed to us as well, but how accurate to the show model his toy is is up for debate, considering what the newest Ultimate Class figures have looked like and used as a gimmick. Hopefully he leans more towards the Ultimate Grimlock than the Ultimate Shockwave.
Check out his product information below, courtesy of Entertainment Earth, and let us know what you think Iaconus will end up looking like below! And stay tuned, hopefully he, and the Ultra Class Skullcruncher and Thunderhowl will make appearances soon!
Get ready to fight on Cybertron with Iaconus! Iaconus figure is an impressive 9 inches tall. Pull, spin, and convert! Easy Transformers conversion for kids 6 and up. Convert Iaconus toy from robot to spaceship mode in 14 steps. Pull out his weapon accessory in the last conversion step to activate his spinning Sword of Iacon Attack feature. Makes a great gift for kids!

Here is my newly revamped (prior to last night) Cyberverse shelf with Ultimate Grimlock, who would be the same size as Iaconus. Grimlock is posed/hunched some in that photo, so he would be taller yet

The Optimus, Megatron, and Shockwave are all standing more or less straight up in the back row there on a riser, and they are the standard deluxe size (about Ironworks/Mirage height) for comparison

The description says 9", so about the size of "old" leader scale like during the Prime Wars trilogy. Ultimate Grimlock is slightly shorter than PotP Optimus Prime (or in my case, Star Convoy).

Yeah, unfortunately, the Cyberverse toyline doesn't have any larger size classes than Ultimate class. It would take a Generations release for Iaconus, Croaton, or the Dweller to receive toys that do their sizes more justice.Skritz wrote:Ultra Markus wrote:Skritz wrote:But how big is that in relation to CHUG figures?

And hopefully someday we get those. The former 2 certainly deserve it, they ended up being major characters wholly original to the lineup.
