That was on one of Saturn's moons.
Indeed, you are correct.
Though, to be fair, it wasn't exactly clear in the film. You could tell that Megatron was headed toward Saturn, due to the rings, but it wasn't clear if it was the planet or one of it's moons.
I think the comics stated which moon, correct?

How about "The Chaos Bringer" or something similarly cool? I get the familiar impression that Bay is completely abandoning all TF historical precedent again. Apparently all the TF creators, collectors and fans are wrong about what is really a great way to do Transformers. Bay has a direct link to the Creation Matrix.

This one.
AutobotTrainer wrote:Okay, here is the REAL issue with the subtitle:
"Dark of The Moon" hints at the cerebral, the ethereal and mystical nature of the permanent darkness of half of our moon. The many plays, songs and poems written on the subject or titled so convey the sense of the mysterious, with complex overtones of spirituality, darkness of the human spirit and our evolved fear of the night. Subjects that are all very intense, deep and emotionally driven.
With that in mind, let us examine the tenor of our two previous Bay Transformers films (hereafter referred to as "TF Films are..")and play "True or False" with some of the adjectives used above.
TF films are cerebral. FALSE
TF films are mystical. FALSE
TF films are mysterious. TRUE (As in: it is mysterious how this dialogue was written. OR It is mysterious how this juvenile, vulgar and racist language is coming out of a robot's mouth)
TF films are complex. FALSE
TF films are intense. FALSE
TF films are deep. TRUE (As in: The cow feces is very deep in here)
TF films explore and espouse the complexities and darkness of the human spirit. OMG FALSE
This subtitle just doesn't work. Not because of most people's immediate association with a Pink Floyd song. Not because of most people's ignorance of the celestial lexicon. It is a fail because it is a thinly veiled attempt to add significance and weight to a film that has a predestination to platitude and low brow humor.
There isn't anything wrong with the films...just don't try to make TF:3 be something it's not (and something no one is expecting it to be).

Why, why, why, can so many of you only complain about anything and everything Transformers.
I really don't get it.
As if something good has come out of your hands in the last, oh I don't know, your life?
Everybody is entitled to his opinion.. yeah... but if it is there just to complain, shut up. Go play with 25+ year old Optimus Prime that doesn't even look half as good anymore as the subtitle they may have come up with.
It is a effing Hollywood movie. It is meant to make big, big, big bucks and it is not made for some washed up 30 something guy who hasn't hit puberty yet.
Go play with some soap, wash your mouth, drop it, bent over and become at least something.

Sometimes you just have to let the negative ones roll off your back..

I like it! I thought the same thing as soon as I read it!OlivusPrime wrote:Am I the only one that thinks it sounds cool? I was expecting the film to be either called something rubbish or just "Transformers 3". In my opinion, this really isn't that bad.
I concur! I can't stand 'of the' titles and I knew TF3 would be yet another, but I actually like this one!
I like the subtitle as well. It is dark and sinister, as the plot is supposed to be.
Regarding homages to the 1986 TF movie, with the exception of Starscream betraying (and maybe killing) Megatron, I hope they never appear in the movieverse: Unicron is too "out-of-scale" for a live action film (as once said by one of the producers still in 2009), and replacing Optimus leadership by Rodimus is IMO the worst ever story-line within the TF mythology.

Seriously.... its just a sub title.
