A G1 cell shaded game?

NICE

I just hope they don't half ass the older gen versions in favor of focusing on the next gen. But at least they're actually releasing the older gen version, I suppose.

And apparently the only Autobots your playing as are Optimus, Bumblebee, Grimlock, Sideswipe and Wheeljack of all people.

As in those 5 are the only ones you play as.

No Cliffjumper or Jazz or even Ironhide (Who makes more sense then Wheeljack)

I mean a Transformers brawler without Ironhide?

Visually it looks fantastic. Im just worried about overall play time with no (known) decepticon campaign. The offical press release said something about 5 difficulty levels which doesnt really make for much replay value. From what I've seen it looks more like a $20.00 arcade game rather than a full priced release but I really want to be proven wrong.

Like it was said previously, this game is very reminiscent of Madworld, another cell shaded beatemup game they made. Platinum games are usually short (less than 10 hours, closer to 5) and don't have much replay value aside from the fun of them and going back to the game having learnt new combos and getting higher scores. They have been doing this kind of games since they began. And all of them were full priced releases, but no one really complains since no one else makes games like them.Think of them as 90s Michael Bay. Every film is an event even if it doesnt have much meat to it. Same with platinum games.

Not saying I'm not excited for this, but a G1 game that's straight up melee is kinda odd.

Anyone else think this game is the perfect commercial for CW Titan Class Devastator?

They said you could play as those characters. They never definitively said those were the only characters you play as.

We've seen guns in use which I assume is done through locking on to a target rather than aiming like in a FPS, so it's not entirely melee.

And yeah, I think this might help sell some Devastators. Reprolables needs to make a set of "cell shaded" stickers to really give Devs that game look. I also hope we get a new G1 style Optimus, like a budget MP. No combining, no stylizing, just pure G1. Looks like they could also repaint some CHUG figures to make them look like they do in the game. I'd rebuy all of the characters from the game if they had a glossy coating and "cell shaded" paint apps.

Unfortunately they actually said those are the only 5 it was mentioned.

I could be wrong but for now the people there are saying those 5 will be the only ones playable.

The individual Constructicon are HUGE in this game! Like, they're all as tall as Optimus when compared to Bumblebee.

And of course, Devastator is as oversized as his Dreamwave counterpart:

Would be awesome, with a Laser Rod Optimus Prime like head.
Which is still imho the best G1 head in the game.

Great! I think I'll enjoy that hack 'n slash gameplay.
Hopefully it's balanced with auto-aim shooting & melee.
And hopefully you can transform normally to drive around town.

From what it looks like, transforming is a simple melee
ramming move, nothing more.

I hope they throw in some sort of Escalation or waves-mode.
That always keeps me warm for another few weeks after a short
singleplayer campaign.

Looking good, me love Devastator!

I was almost worried that there'd be no more Transformers
games besides Angry Birds, cards & super deformed :-(

Sideswipe did do Jet Judo, so he was already kinda martial artsy. In 2 episodes.

OH! Michael Bell is doing Sideswipe? That means he must be doing Bombshell and Scrapper as well! I hope! PLEASE!!!!

Just watched the live game play stream or whatever you call it

And they said there is only 5 Autobots to play as in only 5 in the WHOLE GAME that's all people just a small cast of 5.

Gameplay is great but gameplay can only get you so far (talking about you Destiny and Titanfall)

Which sucks a lot especially the choice of characters

Typical Optimus
Typical Bumblebee
Typical Grimlock
Typical Sideswipe

The only change of scenery with the cast is Wheeljack and I have always hated Wheeljack.

How are they charging this "Arcade" game for $60 when it's severely lacking with reasons to actually buy it?
