It seems that people really have a phobia of photographing figures with transformed back kibble, doesn't it? Both of the last Mudflaps had it unfolded in most product pictures, I believe I've seen Skids with his unfolded, and Battle Blade Bumblebee always has his hood scoop unfolded and sticking up from behind his head. Wtf?

Is it really so hard to transform a figure that is clearly easy to transform? I mean seriously. Well at least he looks good in Robot mode. Definitely liking the shoulders of Mudflap more than Skids.

I really don't like Mudflap's tiny little arm. Did Megatron find Mudflap injured and gave him a shrunken down version of his arm?

I am thoroughly impressed with this figure. Nice bulky figure, movie accurate, nice alt mode. Im glad I only picked up Skids in the ROTF line, cause im most likely picking up this Mudflap. I really did the black schemes on him, breaks up the red.

So yea, I might be picking up this guy, but I hate his stupid face.

You may have missed these guys when we ran our previous story about DOTM Deluxe Thundercraker if you didn't actually visit KOToy's facebook gallery, but they also had some nice images of DOTM Deluxes Skids and Mudflap. As you can see in the images mirrored below, while they share the same Chevy Spark alt mode, there are several subtle differences between the pair in robot mode. They also have differing MechTech weapons.

I REALLY don't like how Mudflap's stripes are thicker than Skids'. To be honest, even if they are in the film, I don't see myself buying them, especially after just looking at the awesome Skyhammer.

holy crap. i think these are based on is devastator actually ate BOTH of these idiots and shat them out. first of all the guns are just stupid. they look like they were taken from 80s ji joe figures and put in this toy line. and that goes for the the whole damn line.

And btw, I think they are in the new movie but im not too sure. they were on set.

Color me unimpressed. I DO like the alt-modes better than the ROTF versions. The other thing is, as with most DOTM toys I've seen so far there are HUGE chunks of colored, but unpainted, plastic. It just makes them look cheap. On these characters in particular, both of their feet are large chunks of green or orange plastic with absolutely no paint apps (saving for Skids' toes) and it just looks awful to me. DOTM Sideswipe is another whose alt-mode looks nice, but the robot mode is largely unpainted grey plastic. It looks like a prototype- not a finished, quality toy.

I'm actually liking the whole Mech-tech idea. I might have to go onto ebay in the following months to ensure I get all of the weapons, cause some of the figures I ain't getting, like these two, Bumblebee, and Ironhide.

It's already been stated several times that being on set doesn't guarantee they'll be in the film.

I wonder if any stores will actually order any of these being that every retail store still has at least 20 of the ROTF versions still on the shelves. The Mudflap figure is a cursed one and i would suspect a retailer seeing it on the order form shouts at the devil himself for cursing their shelves with such an abomination.

I'm sure that this figure is now blacklisted by retailers due to it's poor sales and the inability to get rid of it even when they're at a dollar in the clearance bin.

Why this figure is being repainted or retooled for DOTM is beyond my comprehension.

Okay enough with that. But I really really like these two. They look at least twice as good as the ROTF molds in my opinion. Maybe the bright orange on Mudflap will be more attractive to kids than brown. I really don't think it's just the character that made him a slow seller, but really kids aren't attracted to darker, duller colors.

Aside from that, I like the MechTech weapons. Looks like Mudflap will be doing some dismembering.
