I was watching a video of the Botcon panel this year, which is odd because I thought they prohibited video recording at these but it doesn't have any signs of being illicitly recorded, which then makes me wonder why Seibertron doesn't have one, but I digress. In the coverage they brought up the then-upcoming release of Earth Wars and mentioned that it falls "squarely" in their Prime Wars Trilogy. This strikes me as an odd thing to say since the game's plot is minimal. Perhaps, since it seems to be a slow build to combiners, this comprises the Combiner Wars portion of the story that we never really saw? I know we had the IDW run, much like we're getting an IDW Titans Return arc now, but the toy fiction that Hasbro likes to talk about differs from these, and TR got a little comic that explains the basic scenario which is more than CW ever got. I'm choosing to ignore the Machinima series because it's kind of awful and potentially contradictory to this game's story, if you can call it that, as well.
I may be reading too much into this, since Hasbro seems to always talk like they're telling a grand story through their toylines and mobile games, which simply hasn't been true for Legends, Earth Wars, or especially Battle Tactics which never even pretended to have a story. But I dunno, I want somebody at Hasbro to wake up and say "Maybe we're emphasizing the wrong aspect of this, why don't we just sell that the game is a fun romp with Transformers characters?" I still laugh at this gem from NYCC last year.
Oh, in other news, I got Galvatron to level 25 and was treated to another dialog. THINGS ARE DEFINITELY MAYBE HAPPENING FOR SURE I THINK.
