The fact that I have nothing to scale this Megatron with along with the huge amount of kibble and bad looking left forearm make this an easy pass for me. They could have used all that extra kibble to make him beefier but instead he looks unimposing. And he doesnt work with MP 10 at all.

They could have released Megatron as a Generations figure and left the Combiner wars to things that actually COMBINE

There haven't been plain Generations figures since 2011. Every figure since 2012 has been part of a subline imprint for the greater Generations line:

2012-2013: Generations Fall of Cybertron
2013-2014: Generations Thrilling 30
2014-2015: Generations Combiner Wars

Besides, this figure was developed back during the Thrilling 30 phase, but won't get released until after the changeover to Combiner Wars. Releasing a new figure in old packaging after the rest of the line has already moved on is bad for business.

Besides, Leader Thundercracker, Legends Thundercracker, Bombshell, Windcharger, Huffer, and Skywarp won't be combiner toys either, yet they'll all be coming out under the Generations Combiner Wars label.

Fireflight is just so PERFECT. Yeah, yeah, he's not perfect in jet mode, I know, but Fireflight is the one my nostalgia senses are most massively tuned in on, and that robot mode is just amazing. I LOVE the head sculpt!

I also snagged a Drag Strip for my buddy, whose favorite combiner is 'ol Menasor.

I'm with you, he was always my favourite and his head-sculpt looked the best. I think this one does him justice, especially with Slingshot's alt-mode, the other Aerialbot limb I had as a Kid.

Me too!!! Was shopping with the Mrs today and we found them at the local Toyworld in Wellington.

I only picked up Bombshell at the moment because I cant find any online at the moment but I might go back on Monday at lunchtime and grab Dragstrip.

I'm pretty stoked because the only time there are any of the latest CHUG figures in New Zealand is in 3 to 6 months after their release so I usually just get all my TF's online.

Agreed and agreed. Slingshot is my second favorite Aerialbot, as well. I'm sincerely hoping that they do a G2 deco of them, since that's the set I had as a kid. It'd be nice to have a Slingshot that doesn't crumble a little bit more each time I look at him.

Can't say I care that much about Skydive or Air Raid, if I'm honest. As such, I'm saving that chunk of the wallet for Protectobots (and whatever hopefully comes after...come on, Computron!).

Via Taiwanese Facebook fan group Transformers Prime TFP, we get our first sighting and in-hand look at the upcoming Transformers Generations [Combiner Wars] Leader class G1 styled Megatron (though now a tank) - and a brief look at its retooled redeco Armada Megatron in its package! Check out the mirrored images below, showing off the robot mode of the silvery Decepticon leader, and a size comparison with Masterpiece MP-10 Optimus Prime. Should we even ask if you'll be picking this one up when it shows up at a store near you..?



The two figures look different enough from the paint app and the new head to warrant getting both. I still think its a good design despite the tiny legs!

So "mean" looking! Why are the 'cons always portrayed as so?

I was down on this Megatron for a while, but he's growing on me, as these things do. I think I like Armada Megatron just a tad better, but I'm definitely getting both - also the Takara version.

Combiner Wars is an amazing next phase of Generations (which, since it's inception, has been pretty amazing anyway).

I'm saying this as a big Megatron fan...the knee articulation/placement is atrocious. I would be willing to forgive the strange spindly shape of the legs if they were at least placed proportional to his body (for Transformers standards) and if the knee articulation was good, but I honestly don't know If I want to pick him up. Shame too. I really liked the tank mode and the silver paint along with the head sculpt.

I agree the knee articulation is pretty awful, but I wouldn't want Megatron to kneel or anything like that. Mostly, I see him standing threateningly, or pointing his cannon somewhere. Considering that, I'm OK with what we're getting in the articulation department.

I am usually a really positive guy but for some reason, this time, I just dont like the figure. I was going to agree on the tank mode but then I saw it's back and it doesnt do much to hide the illusion of megatron's feet. This mold almost looks like an upscaled version of the deluxe megatron tank from a decade ago. It just doesnt feel like the momentous leader I was hoping for. But I am happy others like him.

If they had ups-ized this mold/design to a voyager with greater articulation and better proportions (probably possible in a larger size class), I would have been all over it.

he has no place in my collection, as he doesnt fit with generations or MP, but i dont care. hes just cool, and looks fun.

I think wrong is in the eye of the beholder. I quite like the G1-esque scheme.

I really like that his sticker sheet comes with those cowboy six-shooter swirly bits.
Looks like he can strike some sweet poses. He's got ankle tilts.
For forcing the "classic" Megatron look on a tank. I think this is the best yet.
