No, Classics went to Universe, and Universe went to the grave. Generations had some Classics stuff in the first few waves. That is all and that is the fact. Anyone who saw the giant FOC on the waves starting in 2012 and have half a brain can recognize that.

Ironic that for Combiner Wars, there aren't really any weapons in Wave 1 that have 2 male pegs*; otherwise it would have made this a lot easier!



* Dragstrip's sword has 2 male pegs but they are positioned weirdly

I had to use Generations Blitzwing's little 3-male-peg gun to do this. Alternatively, I could've dug out my Construct-Bots - they have all manner of connectivity.

I hope someone finds a way to get Generations Leader Megatron to wield his RTS Legends self, if only for giggles. Come to think of it, having the Armada version of Leader Megatron hold his G1 gun self from RTS would be quite a sight too.

I bet they would. Three repaints = less investment and more sales = more money. I wouldn't be surprised if Scattershot was a new mold. But I bet that he is a remold of Silverbolt.

No, I don't have the RID Drift. It just looks like a heavy retool of the mold. Maybe not the feet though, now that I have seen the bottom of it. I could be wrong all together, but without having it in hand it is just speculation.

We can do some pretty amazing things with molds nowadays. So it would not surprise me if they used it as a template.

During one of his casual chat with either McCarthy or Scott, Va'al probably said something about how he needs a new obsession, they went back to IDW and Hasbro and the rest is history ...

Our cartoon is the comics. To which I must give respect to Sabre personally as he turned me on to them. At least for now, you never know!! Wouldn't it be cool to have IDW work with an animation studio to produce a cartoon!

That's because really only one user is calling it G3. Most of the rest do some variation of Classics/Generations. (Classics, Universe, Henkei, Generations is sometimes referred to as CHUG, but I've seen some people say that this is actually a derogatory word, so I know I tend to avoid it.) It's all a way to refer to a line or series of lines that don't necessarily tie into any current media and seem to homage G1 characters.

Really, as in a lot of things, it's in the eye of the beholder...

I would agree though it would be nice to see a Generations Voyager Shockwave with a darker flare and not as ugly as DOTM, and not a re-used Deluxe of Airraid FOC...

FOC Air Raid was a retool of FOC Shockeave, not the other way around (check who's more game design accurate) and overall not a bad design, just on the small side.

I'd like to see a classics style Shockwave as a voyager, but I'm happy to wait until Combiner Wars is over, as I don't think he needs to be a torso for a combiner team.

So basically this whole "G3" kick that you have been going on about is just a reference to the current comics.

You do realize that IDW just uses the toy designs Hasbro sends them and not the other way around right?

As far as calling it G3 based on that rational.... I can think of a half dozen numbers that should come before these current toys. Heck as far as I see it under that classification G3 would be Beast Wars, not IDW.
