I dont know what's wrong with me. I am not fond of the mold being used for cyclonus due to the undercarriage but... I really like that Torso mode. Its not due to any homage I am thinking of or repurposing, I just think it looks good as a toy.

Paint him a different shade of blue and give him some different limbs and you could almost make him look like Overlord

Im working my way through IDW's comics, now. Are these just regular issues that I will eventually run into, anyway? Or did they actually cook up one-shots for all the combiner limbs?

Regular issues, none of them have been specific one shots beside's skids. That's only technically because James Roberts knew in advance that insert issue here was going to be packed in with the toy without much prior context for More than Meets the Eye.

So, if the wave 1 figures are showing up with comics, that would mean they have profiles like the ones we've seen for the wave 2 figures, right? (And possibly longer Tech Spec bios?) I'll be interested in seeing those if they're present.

I actually really like this. I kind of expected to, as oddball stuff falls squarely in my court, but it's nice to have that feeling confirmed.

I have a fondness for oddball stuff too, but I also really like the look of that torso mode. I'm in.

Courtesy of usual suspect Genetic of the TFND.net boards, and notified by fellow Transformers fan Chris Wells, we have our first proper look at the Generations Combiner Wars retool of Voyager Silverbolt - into Cyclonus! And not only is the olden Decepticon repurpled for the cause, we also finally see the new torso mode for the Galvatronus combined mode, some comparison shots, and some combined mode pictures too. Yes, but its in the comic and not in back of the box. Here is an example:

Ooo, so his team is dark blue (Defensor is light blue-green). Below is Ultra Prime on the far left:

That only leaves Optimus Maximus as an unknown color.

Notice how blue the fists/feet are in this picture? They are the same blue hue as Cyclonus. In fact Cyclonus is a bit more purple.



See his fists/feet? They're pretty darn purple compared to Optimus Prime's blue. I'm confident that Cyclonus is the right shade of purple, since it matches the fists/feet in the new pictures.

Unless those are the hands and feet that come with the autobot limbs for the optimus torso.

The second picture is mine; the purple fists/feet are from the Stunticons. If you mean the first picture then it would be unlikely they'd be previewing the Autobot limbs (seeing that they stuck with the respective fists/feet per limb.)

Plus, if you've noticed, fists/feet are unique per limb - a recolor will get minor color changes e.g. Skydive and Air Raid have the same fist/foot mold, but Air Raid's has a white "thumb connector".

Wow, that's an impressive jet mode. I think Motormaster is a turd, but I might get the Stunticon limbs for Cyclonus/Galvatronus. And I agree, repaint this into blue and black, and we have a torso for Overlord.

I actually knew it was on the back of the comic and not the package, but the one on the back of the package is longer too. The multilingual one just has "Ruthless DECEPTICON racer."

With wave 2 stuff arriving, I think it's time to see scramble city taken to its logical extreme. Create some wild combinations, and share your pics!

ULTRA PRIME, Alliance Formation





Under heavy and indiscriminate assault as part of Starscream's latest betrayal, Autobot and Decepticon alike scurry for cover, or frantically search for a weapon that can damage the massive gunships bombarding the area. A group of Aerialbots, under the command of Optimus Prime, encounter a handful of stray Stunticons and, after a brief stand-off, agree to unite against their common foe. After purging all sensitive data from their memory banks, they attempt a desperate combination, and together gain the power to strike back. In this configuration, Ultra Prime sports immense firepower from a shoulder cannon augmented by Powerglide, and the swift warriors that make up his limbs allow the giant robot surprising speed and agility.

However, this colossus in not without weakness. Though Optimus Prime's influence provides some stability, being composed of mostly Aerialbots and Stunticons results in a being who struggles with both the single-mindedness of Superion and the volatility of Menasor, and has a dangerous tendency to select a single target to focus on with extreme predjudice, ignoring all other enemies until the focus of his wrath has been utterly annihilated. In addition, the aliance that holds Ultra Prime together is tenuous at best, making it very difficut for him to remained combined for any significant length of time.

That Galvatronus head looks rather small compared to Cyclonus' head. I really like how the torso comes together though.

I've done this from the start, I thought it was how it was supposed to be.

I'm loving the shoulder mounted powerglide,I'm thinking viper might look better though. Maybe one on each side?

I'm thinking we could have how many bots in a combiner team competition, I'm up to about 11 so far!
