Then again, if Prowl turns out to be a new mold (Dead End/Streetwise/Wildrider can't be used according to my "2 vehicles, 3 heads" theory), we'll have our Lightspeed... or "Lightstorm" if we are to follow the Kreon.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they brought in a new Technobot that somehow uses the DragStrip mold.
Just wait for them to do the Combaticons, turn BlastOff into a drone based on the FireFlight mode and then reveal they actually replaced Vortex for a new character from Air Raid, just to see the reaction.
Once I ran an Anime festival with over 6,000 attendees. Now... not so much.

Funnily enough, remember the Kre-O Combiners and how some members were separated and put in the blind bags? These are them:
- Quickslinger
- Brake-Neck
- Groove
- Nosecone
- Rampage
- Blight
- Blast Off
Seeing a pattern?

Thankfully, Blight was able to stay with his team for the G1-homaged Prime Abominus combiner.JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:Editor wrote:Sabrblade wrote:I could see Hasbro replacing Lightspeed for a new Technobot since he always struck me as being the least "techno"/futuristic of the Technobots. Really LOOSE?
No, mine was fine. Maybe yours has been turning tricks?
Well, that'll happen when Dead End is laying down pipe all day.
Yeah, my Dead End has some issues. I will say, the hand/foot port does come off easily, but while you can pop it back on either way, one way around stays on slightly better than the other, so maybe try flipping it around if it's especially bad, it might get a little better.
Real problem is his hand/foot module not being tight enough for him to hold as a blaster. As a hand/foot it's fine, but not for that. As a roof gun it's somewhere in between. I may experiment with super glue to build up the post a little.
Speaking of super glue, Blackjack wouldn't stay on Menasor's nipples, so I tried super glue in one of his holes (the other being split between his legs made it pointless, as that one's always gonna be loose). Seems to have worked really well, and he's a lot more secure as a chest now than he was out of the package. Still comes off just fine when I intentionally take him off.

It's a lot easier to exclude a character from a building set where you can rearrange parts freely than from a team of action figures who can only shift themselves around to a limited degree.
As for the list of characters excluded from the Kre-O sets, I find that interesting. I wonder what the reasoning was behind leaving out those particular characters and if it's the same reasoning being applied to Combiner Wars.

Likely that the part count or parts included for those models made them the odd man out when designing the Kre-o Gestalts that only included 4 figures.
That said I know I have built them using all 5 for most of them, Devy and Pirana with 6 and Superion with 7 (Air Raid, Firestrike (err Fireflight), Silverbolt, Skydive, Quickslinger (err Slingshot), Powerglide & Scattershot (err Airazor). Please don't release a Kre-o Alpha Bravo, or I'll have to find a way to shoehorn him in as well.

I only bought Predaking, and never got Rampage, but I like the way Predy looks combined. How does your five-bot version look?

More on-topic, any other contenders in the Scramble Nation challenge? I might start a separate thread for this but I only have Alpha Bravo right now so I can't contribute much.

The way they made superion, the mold is more in line with G1 and having all the jets makes sense, hence why I went with takara. I was gonna do the same with Menasor and when I saw that brake neck was coming out I thought I would go the hasbro route with the G1 members instead of takara, saving me some money (I bought the Takara superion before the extra jet limb was anounced). But when I saw the takara pics of the Menasor team, I didnt feel the g1 theme played out too well and while 4 same looking jets worked, having a team of 3 very different molds with one repeated just looked off. While Superion was very G1, Menasor looked more like a classics take on the character where alt modes are updated and slightly changed (like Motormaster being just a cab). Added to the fact that brake neck would come out costing me 40$ canadian if I get it retail price US$ on a website, I am not saving that much money from achieving a G1 menasor the hasbro route, so I will just stick to the mass retail hasbro toys for menasor. Superion is G1 right off the screen but Menasor is more like G1 redux, like the nerf gun megatron. I dont see a point going for a more G1 deco and team when the toys themselves arent all that G1.

They are nailing the Protectobots, and I look forward to getting these guys. Defensor is shaping up to be my favorite combiner at this rate, mainly because each component is so different and each has been nailed, from head sculpt to vehicle mode.

haha, "Rook Punch!" - Defensor's fatality move.
Bit of a backpack there - but I like the implications of that - easy to retool as you only have to replace that one piece and you've got a whole new vehicle... even add a tank turret perhaps?

Replace wheels with Treads and add a turret to the roof--Badabing! Brawl!
And thus, the entire "regular" combaticon team can be made from retools/redecos!
