Man! somebody in here made him into a pretty cool looking gun, but I can't remember for the life of me who or where. I'll go look.Rodimus Prime wrote:Well, I have the 5 original members of the team plus Powerglide. I wonder if I could attach him to Superion's back in helicopter mode.
gimme a sec.

He is definitely worth getting. He's a cool figure. I could not find that pic of Alpha as a gun, but he is somewhere in here. And looking at my Superion, you can unscrew the combiner peg, remove the big piece, and still have a nice peg with which Superion and wield Alpha as a gun. Just attach the arm piece with the fingers tucked and the guns stuck out

Once I get enough time to myself (e.g., the weekend) I think I'll take a few group shots of my own of the 1984 catalogue/cast with the SDCC pop up Ark from last year's G1 Dinobots set. Of course, I'd make a few changes in the figures used (for instance, Cloud Optimus and United Voyager Megatron).

I'm on the other side of the fence, but I get it. I'll tell you, he is a really fun TF. If you plan on getting Defensor though just get Blades. If not, I don't think you'll regret AB.

I'm on the side of the fence that wants even MORE "second stringers" for the traditional teams to swap in for a substitution now and then. I'd like at least four total Autobots and Decepticon limbs each do give "red" Ultra Prime and Galvatronus something to do on my shelves. That white redeco Ultra Prime is already earmarked for the upcoming Ironhide, Sunstreaker, Mirage, and Prowl limbs, of course.

It's funny J, I was fine with just the stand-ins. I don't really thump any one fiction, They're Classicsverse enough for me. I'm names and bios, then it's head cannon from there on out. But now I'm wondering if I shouldn't wrangle up the other two just for the Scramble City of it. The Arkbot team is in the bag! But I also think down the road we are gonna see a lot of re-uses of these toys. Don't you think a team of 4 "Swopes" is a no brainer? Hasbro just served those up to the club on a platter.
So ya, we're on the same side of the fence.
Though,I'm still riding the fence with the mysterious white buffalo.
He is gonna have to ZING me, if I'm gonna bite.

I'll be on that side of the fence too.
I think you could even expand on the fiction. Look at what they did with the new Voltron cartoon, changing it up so ANY of the lions could be the torso which resulted in different abilities.
Along the same lines, the different members of the combiner teams could have different specialities.
I always looked at Alpha Bravo as the heavy guns that came in late and cleaned up any messes.

Yeah I'll pitch in, more of these secondary limb bots would be nice, like a team of one, maybe 2 other characters with similar characteristics to their teams to fill in at a moments notice. Also the title "Secret Auxiliary Reserve" is badass.

Actually, the Aerialbots and Stunticons both now have SEVEN members. Don't forget about Powerglide and Blackjack!

I didn't forget about them, I just don't count them.
Blackjack I might consider a member; he actually helps form the combined mode. Powerglide, less so. That doesn't mean I don't love them or the potential play interactions (I do!), just that they're less of a consideration for me team-wise.

Cyclonus is awesome. A lot of good retooling went in his details. And he adds such cool ingredient to the scrambler. I'm really glad to have him as an extra.

In Forever is a Long Time Coming, the Aerialbots did have space flight capabilities. Btw, that Cosmos chestplate is mighty creative of you.

Remember this is how the Japanese originally intended the Scramble City concept.

Wow, the artist of that comic could have at least TRIED to make that combined Prime look like he was an actual combiner. The cover art is great, but the comic, not so much.
Aping for the Nick Roche approach but the results aren't too nice.
All of those comments appear to ring true for me also.
At first I thought there was a hint of Geoff Senior, then Nick Roche but realised neither comparison should be used as this art doesn't come close to their great work.
Perhaps this new artist will settle in after a few more issues. I need to see more I think?
