Though, I'd strongly recommend against linking to fan customs without specifying that that's what they are, or you might confuse people into thinking that they're real official figures.

well i did specify that this is what Blast Off SHOULD look like! SHOULD meaning something that we're not getting as part of the official line! had it been so, i would've worded it differently, but your right...i should've been more specific, but i think you've already done that.....now.
oh, sorry, were you referring to the second link i gave? well tbh both links really go to a fan's custom job. & a very nice one at that
but it's just to show the possibility of what Hasbro(or Takara) COULD'VE given us with that figure, instead of what we're getting.

But who would they repaint Blastoff as?
A mold or remold needs to be repainted at least once for business reasons I'm not good at explaining.

The funny thing is that they first complain about don't getting something new and then they complain about it that it actually is something new. Those people should just buy the G1 reissues and ignore the rest. It was the same thing with the AoE toys: The generations line was meant the older kids and collectors and the rest (one- and three-step-changers and so on) for young kids but the collectors complain about something that wasn't meant for them.
Ridiculous!

Well in the case of the UK, we got nothing but the one-step changers for AoE, so from a collector's point of view it really, really sucked.

Oh, yes indeed! I was just commenting on how that fan custom would look good in purple and grey as a CW Astrotrain. It was another character that the custom figure resembled which could have been repainted. Twas never meant to be serious.
[Edit] Cool that we have options.

While you think you are joking Agamemnon, TT did recently just take a shuttle, have it purple and call it astrotrain:

The fandom is - most fandoms are - a group of individuals that vary/differ greatly in what they want from person to person. Amongst the G1 fans alone, there's quite a lot of variety - Some G1 fans want the original toys manufactured in the 80s. Some G1 fans want reissues, because they want to recapture their childhood memories without the wear-and-tear of 30 years. Some G1 fans want Masterpieces or updates to those toys because they want toys as awesome as they imagined their toys were when they were kids. And some G1 fans want things that are entirely new, because they want to continue expanding on that world. And that's all without going into the non-G1ers. And while most individuals probably lean in one of those directions, there are also many who are okay with things that play at the boundaries of those desires.
So it's a whole lot of people with different ideas, but rather than seeing one group of differing rational people, it seems that most perceive one group of unanimously irrational people.
False consensus effect? Or in-group homogeneity bias? Not sure.

I didn't say it was cheap. It's just nice to see BBTS and Target at the same price. The TT Unite Warriors box sets are $135 at BBTS, so, yes, I consider $99 pretty cheap. (And quick rough calculation in my head, I don't think this is far off what the torso and limbs individually would cost at Target...)

But you get 6 figures: 1 Voyager, 4 Deluxe and 1 Legends. Now I'm thinking about importing it (I live in Germany) because even with import charges (19%) that wouldn't be expensive. But I wait 'til they are coming out here and what they'll cost here. Perhaps I'll be surprised

As I wasn't one of the people who objected to the idea of a bonus team member - the only change I might make is to offer some 3rd party add ons so the extra team members can either attach to the back or chest or for a Seacon-style Targetmaster like weapon add on. (Rook might even be able to to this already).

I think the only reason they didnt put out an online exclusive wave for groove like they did with quickslinger and brakeneck is because they would've had to do solid cases of ONLY groove back then. but now there's a new revised mold for another character (unite warriors Blast-Off) they'll put out another 50:50 case of those 2.
Thats my theory and I'm betting the farm on it.

I think that every damn time I enter this threadBurn wrote:I don't even know what's going on in here at the moment, too much reading to catch up on.

Why do people want the same thing over and over again? I don't get it.
Ridiculous!
I am not complaining! I'm actually one of the ones who does not complain much. All I was saying about the customs was the backwards transformation of a custom which was good, and I was more commenting on how other people have made a point of mentioning in this thread that Blastoff's arms should be his nosecone. I am also one who does not care for G1 original toys and prefers generations guys as well as enjoys movies and movie toys. So please don't imagine me as a complainer, cause I really don't
