It might be a smart play by Amazon. They already know if they drop this thing to $29.99 like HTS did with the G2 sets, they'll sell out in 10 minutes. By incrementally lowering it, they'll eventually sell out while making more revenue than a one time price drop. I'm sure a good amount of folks have pounced on this deal, with more to come.

I had a interesting convo with my brother-in-law last night about Amazon. Amazon is not controlling this crazy price drop marathon. It's most likely Hasbro, or I would guess maybe ToyRUs. Amazon doesn't always buy this inventory. Instead they simply warehouse it for the manufacturer or the distributor. Just like they would for an independent seller.
