Yes, both have the same problem.
Good. I hadn't picked up Prime, but since I have the '84 bots, I may get him. Also, in the vein of my previous Galvatron question, would Battlecore Prime with 4 Mirage limbs kinda resemble Ultra Magnus?
I would suggest getting the Battlecore Prime instead for that super sweet headsculpt ad the fact that he doesnt have that ratchet problem.
And as for your other question, I dont think so. The whole deal with Ultra Magnus is that he has blue and red on his body too, as well as his head. Ultra Magnus would be better represented by having the Ultra Prime torso with 4 mirages. But that too red

I dont know.
Here was something I was thinking and I am sorry if it comes off anti hasbro or mean, but it was about how I see Hasbro's Blastoff.
For as long as I have been collecting, to maximise on a mold, Hasbro will take a character and recolour it for fun. Like this here:
Transformers: Robots In Disguise (2015) Gold Armor Grimlock GalleryWe know thats not G1 grimlock per se and no one is pretending it is. It's just a fun homage. Takara did the same thing with Bloody Knockout, making it a Bluestreak homage (especially since that base mold was already used by them for smokescreen).
Or even this here:
Transformers Age of Extinction: Generations Hot Shot GalleryThey dont call him Tracks but we all know its a Tracks homage. Which is fine. Its not aimed as being Tracks himself and is treated as just an extra to fill a line and have something on the shelves. Its not replacing anything or taking away anything.
So those were some examples of homages, repaints of molds in decos of other characters or other versions of characters, but not the characters themselves.
And as a toy concept, thats exactly how I see this:
Transformers Generations Combiner Wars Blast Off GalleryIts not
really Blastoff, its Slingshot in Blastoff colours as a fun redeco to put on a shelf. For some reason I feel that even more when I look at the G2 version since that is in itself a redeco of a toy that was already a redeco. So technically, G2 Blastoff is a redeco of Slingshot and not Blastoff, which makes it stick out even more to me:

I mean thats the first time ever right? That a G2 Blastoff is not a redeco of Blastoff but of another toy? That makes it feel so weird for me.
And unlike Tracks or Grimlock or loads of others, this "fun" redeco means that there actually wont be an actual blastoff on the shelves
That's not G1 Grimlock, that's not really tracks, and that's not really Blastoff. Just homages.
