As a source of generic Decepticons I could get behind this, but as Liokaiser...nah. If I feel the need for a Liokaiser it's TFC all the way for me.
Ha ha Transformers go brrrrr

Always the optimist/completist...I always hope that Hasbro and/or TT will come through and make things right...but this hardly ever happens. In my perfect CW/UW world.... In addition to the LioKaiser box set we have seen so far, I imagine either as general release (even under the Titans return line), or as HTS exclusives...3 additional deluxe limbs that can be purchased to interchange with Liokaiser- 1)An additional Aerialbot mold for Leozak, 2. An additional Swindle mold for Jarugar, and 3. and additional Helicopter mode for Deathcobra (though in Japan DC was only in 1 episode of the anime and a toy was never made).
In an odd twist Jarugar was the only member of this team to be made into a Kreon

I have been proven wrong before (very recetly too) but I still preffer being a realist and not holding hope for Takara to completely create a new combiner system to have two deluxes combine into a torso that can still plug with the pre-established CW port system for the arms and legs.
What I think will happen is this will be released as a platinum set and if Takara releases it, it will be released as a USA edition just like they did for the other platinum set they wanted to distribute in Japan, Trypticon.
In any case, no matter what Takara does with a Unite Warriors Liokaiser (IF they do), it will never be a decent update to the original. The whole point of Liokaiser is he has integrated hands and feet. To be a real update, Takara would have to redo this whole guy from scratch.

I'm not excited about this one as Liokaiser. This is not Liokaiser, especially when 2 of the original members are missing, one of whom is one of the most important characters from the Breastforce and from the Victory series (i.e. Leozack).
I really wish they had figured out a way to swap out the Voyager body with two deluxes so that the 6 member Combiner teams could be properly done. I'd also love to see Devastator done in this scale so that he's not the odd man out as a "Titans Class" sized figure.

Hmm, I can see what they were going for with the colours on the combined mode but as optimistic as I'm trying to be, I'm not feeling it as 'the' Liokaiser. If I get this, it will be headcannoned into a new set of characters who have formed a cult around the deceased combiner and have modded themselves to combine into a lookalike.
I think some of my problems stem from the lack of key characters, the use of the skylynx mold (lack of bot mode is a turn off no matter if it's deathsarus or leozack).
As for devy being titan class, at least his rival will be in the same class size and who knows what could happen in a few years. We could end up with deluxe scale constructicons and an omega supreme (leader sized? That's roughly the size of the combiners isn't it?)
Thinking about it, Omega Supreme would of been a great leader class candidate for Titan Returns (wouldn't be the first time he's been a headmaster either

I dobelieve that part of the reason why hasbro settled on Devastator as a titan class would be that he could scale with his rival when the time comes to release him.

Depending on how the individuals look and stuff, my story for these will probably be that Leozack and Jallguar were killed when Liokaiser's torso got blown up in a battle, and the Decepticons reformatted the remaining limb bots and a fifth guy in an attempt to return Liokaiser to his former glory.
Keyword being 'attempt'.

Meh. I'll get it to five it a try. I love them breastforce boys. Everybody has pretty much said what needs to be said. Glad to be completing the TFC version soon, although this will cost about 1/4 the price.
Be interesting to see what is intended with the torso, which doesn't look a bit like Deathsaurus at hai point.
A third party group willl almost no doubt create a two deluxe chest and abdomen set for Liozack and Jagg. Maybe.

For what it's worth and this is not my picture but apparently you can attach Timelines Leozack to the Sky Lynx torso mode. I don't have Sky Lynx so I don't know how the connection is made or if it is sturdy.

You plug the mini-con ports on the underside of 'screamer's wings into the ports on the underside of Sky Lynx's wings

You're welcome

So when do we think we'll get official pictures then? Though if it does turn out to be a platinum, then we have some chance of it turning up in the UK

Seibertronian Autobot Roadburn has shared with us images proving that a new change has been made to a Transformers Combiner Wars voyager ratchet joints. Much like Motormaster/Optimus Prime from the first waves, it looks as though Onslaught's hip assembly has also been tweaked to allow for better, wider stances. You can see the images detailing the change below, along with some words by Autobot Roadburn - check them out!
I just picked up a CW Onslaught today (my second copy) and his stance has been widened a bit. I think this happened with the Motormaster/Optimus mold, basically instead of the legs rubbing against each other, they made it so that the slight slant on his feet stands flat on surfaces. His head also seems to be straightened out a bit (my first one had “always looking down” syndrome, my second one seems to look a bit straighter forward). The Onslaught on the left is the one I got from BBTS in December and the one on the right is one I found at Fred Meyer, which may have been there for a while - I’ve seen Onslaughts there for a few months now, so I’m not sure when these changes were put into effect. The box code for the newer one is 52931 in case it’s too hard to read the picture. I hope this is helpful, it’s only a slight difference but it makes the figure look WAY better in my opinion.

From the official pictures, it looks like UW Onslaught has the fix. I can't tell as far as G2 Onslaught because the pictures don't show him in a static pose, and they could have with Hot Spot but I have no clue, I only ever bought one Hasbro version and he didn't have a fix. Based on a couple pictures I found, the UW version doesn't have it, and they stopped making Hot Spot a while before Onslaught came out.

Grrr....I have both versions of Onslaught because it was ultimately cheaper to buy the pair of Voyagers online. (Plus, I was hoping the rumors of a running color change were true.) I had intended to sell my duplicate Onslaught a couple of years from now. But, it appears that my unopened Onslaught is the "fixed" version....

Same here. I never understood what the problem was with this. It's not difficult. All they had to do was shrink the dimensions of the mold, and press 6 deluxe-size figures instead of 6 voyager-sized ones. The figures themselves are fairly simple, Hasbro wouldn't have had to sacrifice accuracy or functionality to downsize them. And even with 6 deluxe members, Devastator would be bigger (but not by much) than the others.Seibertron wrote:I'd also love to see Devastator done in this scale so that he's not the odd man out as a "Titans Class" sized figure.

Out of curiosity I just checked my Onslaught packaging, and while the number isn't this new one,
he appears to have a wider stance; don't know if this changes once he's out of the box, but the legs look fine to me.
Could be wrong, but his head does look slightly tilted downward.
Not enough that I noticed before or that it's bothersome.
I think I'm going to be able to hold-out and wait for my UW Brut to show up next month without opening my Hasbro Combaticons... I can make it another month+. I can make it another month+...
Anyway, has anyone said anything about this leg/head tilt issue with their UW set??
