Indeed
I like that they added the null rays, but I wish there was a port higher up to place them so they could work better with the arms and wings design though

But shoulder-based armaments just seem so inefficient

Well now, that is a cannon!
They could have done what the legends did with the seekers so the arms were a bit more posable

I actually really do not mind the head. The crown really helps it look good for Starscream but Skywarp and Thundercracker still look good with that head

TC is going back down again in price, so I am going to pick him up and I recommend you do the same. the colors look very nice (probably the best all around).

Or we can think about this realistically and not make a bullshit non cannon explanation (that''s funpub's job); the reason probably has something to do with which parts are on which sprues, the chest sections may be molded with the arms and engines.
But is it really BS? Because that would mean that his chest is 100% without a doubt his nosecone. And from the looks of the toy, it isnt. No nosecone has never looked like that. And toy-wise, it isnt his nosecone, its just a chest design and his nosecone is up in the back. So all the chest is really doing is homaging the nosecone, not replacing it outright and thus the chest colour needs not duplicate the full colour. What I mean is the toy is already not the traditional Skywarp since his nosecone is not his chest. This is an update for the generations line, and seeing it that way, why cant other aspects be different?
I mean, is the colour of the chest really the only different between this
and this?
Thats some serious sugarcoating you did there. Lets be real. Whether the mold is Jetfire or a seeker, thats a fake cockpit/nosecone created on behalf of lazy Hasbro engineering. How hard could it have been to make his chest the actual cockpit instead of a fake ? They pulled it off quite nicely on Armada Starscream.

First of all, Takara does the engineering. Hasbro gives them the desired designs and the budget and parameters with which to make them happen without breaking the bank (e.g., keeping profit margins high and investors happy). Secondly, the faux cockpit is because this is a retool of the Jetfire mold. It didn't have a faux cockpit, but a secondary smaller cockpit, in its design. That's a result of him being designed with the cartoon model in mind for his robot mode. The cartoon model alt mode, heavily (and notoriously) redesigned from the original toy's alt mode, includes the secondary cockpit on the underside of the fuselage (you can only see it in some rare undercarriage and transformation shots), just like this new toy, though the alt mode more resembles the original toy otherwise. To redesign the transformation scheme for the seekers to instead use the main cockpit for their chest would probably have meant completely redesigning the entire mold altogether, instead of strategically reshelling the mold and maintaining the core engineering and design. It was a cost saving measure, and one that meant the difference between having Leader class Seekers or nothing at all at that price point. Heck, Hasbro might not have even put out Leader class Jetfire had they not been assured future returns with the Seeker retool and repaints.

Anyways, real talk here: I have the opportunity to buy Leader Megs (G1 deco) for 40$. Now I want to know, at that price, is he worth it? It wouldnt be for a shelf or to go with anyone but simply to have in my collection and to try out the mold. Is it a really good toy? Am I missing out by never getting this mold? And am I better off getting the G1 deco at 40$ or waiting for all the armada megs to go on ligquidation at 25-30$ and buying that instead?
Please let me know your thoughts.
