Hopefully we'll get Black Zarak to go with him.

I still don't understand where they got the name from, next to Onomis and Koka of "Grand Cog". At least he has an alternative name: Guard Minder, leader of the Fasttrack drones... and I'm pretty sure I'm encouraging army building right now.
According to TFwiki, "Guardminder" refers to all the Fasttrack drones.

I wonder if there was a stray Japanese design document that gave Fasttrack the name "Roritchi", that would make "Black Roritchi" more sensible for the Black Zarak one. It wouldn't surprise me if there was such a document... Takara very obviously could not keep their notes straight when it came to Scorponok. Someone obviously wanted to have the big robot mode named "Megazarak" to mirror "Fortress" and "Fortress Maximus", while someone else wanted to keep the American name Scorponok... and wires got crossed to the result of the small non-scorpion guy who formed the head ending up with the "Scorponok" name while the big transtector got the Megazarak name despite the parallel having been ruined. One of many reasons The Headmasters is a trainwreck.

I've been wondering something about Black Roritchi's name. Since the "Roritchi' part is written as ロリッチ in Katakana, then shouldn't his name instead be "Black Roricchi" since the small ッ is used to double the next character's consonant sound (In this case, it turns the "chi" of チ into "cchi") and does not universally function like a letter T sound?

*shrug* You'd have to ask whoever transliterated it why they went with a 'T'.

Maybe we should drop the subject.. Or has the fandom managed to mature beyond fighting blood wars over transliterations?

Looking up TFWiki's history, the person who added the T was an anon. :HEADHURTS:

I've received an answer elsewhere that "Roritchi" is indeed correct.

Meanwhile, in other Selects-related news, my Turtler and Gulf have shipped. :KREMZEEK:

I wonder if they'll bother doing a Selects Clouder, considering the animators of Masterforce screwed up royally and used the Doubledealer color scheme.

Weird choices if you ask me, two Ratbat redecos and no Buzzsaw. Locked me a set down though.

EDIT: on closer inspection, one appears to have a different head sculpt :-?

Transformers Generations Selects Spy Patrol Part 3 Revealed with Pre-Orders and Official Images

Toy Fair 2020 is in full swing, and we have a boatload of stuff to share with you today!

Up first, we have the one Transformers Generations Selects figure to come out of the event: the Soundwave Spy Patrol Part 3! This Selects release is a 4-pack of Micromasters, which was rumored about a month ago. This will serve as the 3rd and final component to the Soundwave cassette team, and features the final 2 "main" cassettes he carried: Frenzy and Wingthing. The other 2 micromaster cassettes in the pack are a bit more interesting: with Leader Class Doubledealer on the way, the final 2 members of this 4-pack include retools of the Soundwave cassettes into the Powermasters for Doubledealer: Autobot Knok and Decepticon Skar!

This 4-pack is now currently up for pre-order on Hasbro Pulse and is set to arrive in early May of this year.

Check out the images below, and let us know what you think in the comments section below!

Well it was 4 PM EST, so you should be able to try and snag one about now. Last I checked the only thing that sold out so far was the Quintesson.

I wonder if Doubledealer will have indents or retractable panels for his Powermasters to fit into. Not the end of the world if not, but it would be a nice touch.

I really like the fact they went with Wingthing instead of Buzzsaw, that was a nice twist! I already have a Buzzsaw so I'm good on that front.

Secured my pre-order, I will have my first complete cassette collection, and Doubledealer will be complete!

Kinda makes sense, as Laserbeak uses the Cybertronian head, and Buzzsaw was never shown there. Expect the duo to appear later with proper bird heads.

I mean, yeah, the choices are good but I wish Knok and Skar weren't taking up space in Soundwave's team and weren't bounded to Selects. I wish they'd do more with the laserbeak and ravage mold, now we technically have 1 ravage use, 1 laserbeak use and 3 frenzy and ratbat uses! I never thought I'd see the day where ratbat was one of the dominators for soundwave cassettes. well i guess there's always reprolabel conversion sets

Yes, because Enemy is cool. I think that we should get a Doubledealer Spy Patrol, a Soundwave Attack Patrol ( Buzzsaw and Frenzy) and the Soundwave Patrol Part 4 (Enemy, Wingthing, and Howlback).

You know, the prevailing theory right now is that the tapes can be stored in Doubledealer's blue chest armor. Doesn't that sort of mean a Selects Machine Wars Soundwave repaint/retool out of DD makes a little more sense in some way?

Yeah but Stalker

:MAXIMAL:

Yeah, and not that I don't want him, but he doesn't really benefit from a place to store minions like MW Soundwave does (even if it wasn't a feature of the original toy).

Oh, and it occurred to me, with the pegs on the back of the "tapes" somebody could easily fashion engine parts to peg onto Skar and Knok making them giant Powermasters.
