I do think it was strange that they packaged "the rest of the team" with the "power masters" but I suppose considering the alternative was 2 individual w packs... I can see why they wanted to shoot for a $20 price point.

Makes me wonder if the eventual Blaster Casettes will be handled the same way. Also surprised we didn't get Enemy and Howlback since they got MP releases...

Howlback's never gotten an MP release. She has her original figure, and the recolor of TR Ravage that came out in the Bumblebee movie line... and that's it for her so far.

Also, why haven't we gotten a Buzzsaw? We've gotten all Soundwave's other minions.

My prediction is that they'll be doing "Gimmick Consolidation".

Powermasters and Breastmasters become cassettes.

Brainmasters will be done as Titanmasters.

So the colors on these figures are dictated by gangmolding.

Rumble has to match Ratbat. Ravage has to match Laserbeak. They can actually switch which colors match but the overall plastic colors have to be shared.

So my thought is...

We'll get Deathsaurus.

Tigerbreast from Ravage in yellow and black with Buzzsaw from Laserbeak in yellow and black.

Eaglebreast as a Ratbat retool in red and black with Enemy as Rumble/Frenzy in red and black.

This lets them follow the basic gangmolding rules while getting Deathsaurus his partners and Soundwave the most essential two of his.

If we do get this, A) I'd be soooo stoked for Deathsaurus :-D and B) They'd probably do it as another 4 pack so that both of Deathsaurus's and Soundwave's minions would be in one pack. Either way, I think it'd work really well. I think Tigerbreast would have to be a new mold because Deathsaurus would end up with either a fake Tigerbreast part on his chest, or it'd be some awkward attempt to attach it to the Ravage remold.

I figure Deathsaurus himself will end up like Doubledealer, with a cassette holster.

I foresee a heavy Doubledealer retool that eliminates the tank mode.

But I think Star Saber will be a Titan Master which rules out Commander or bigger versions.

In general, if you start with the gimmicks as the reference point for scale and only use MMs/BMs/TMs, most JG1 characters have to be smaller.

I think Commander Ginrai is possible but the basic mode would be Voyager.

I know media scale has been a buzzword with WFC but I think they're concerned with WESTERN media scale (mostly cartoon) and that the JG1 characters are going to get resized so their leaders don't dwarf G1 Optimus and Megatron.

T30 is filling cups like double D's and I love me some tig ol' botties! :x

The colors on Skar and Knok are pretty damn good match to T30 Doubledealer.

Well, not necesarily. Remember, MP Star Saber's Brainmaster was tiny and Star Saber's as tall as a CW Combiner. Plus, the Titanmaster only really needs to work with Saber, and they could do something like what they did with the leaders and have Star Saber's head be a helmet for the Titanmaster that you plug it into, or they could have it so that Star Saber's helmet is a full head on it's own, and the Titanmaster just sits in Saber's cockpit when combined.

Alternitavely, they could do what POTP's did with the leaders, but at a larger scale. Have Saber be a Voyager sized figure with a Matrix style holder for the Brainmaster to slot into, like with Razorclaw and Onyx Prime. Then, the trailer section makes up the rest of the Commander pricepoint. This would avoid a Titanmaster serving as the head, and allow for transformation to be a bit easier.

Though, I really only see Star Saber and Deathsaurus coming in the mainline as his own mold and as a leader class sized figure because they already have the design for that (and also Arcee and Hound as Primes, which honestly I wanna see in Selects just because that would be interesting  ).

I get the impression a Primed-up Arcee would either look really cool or really awful. Likely the latter. Hound I'd be curious to see that abandoned design too, mainly because I'd want to see how what their 'trailers' would have been.

To be clear: I don't think Star Saber or Deathsaurus will be selects.

I think Tigerbreast and Eaglebreast will be gangmolded with Buzzsaw and Enemy and released as Selects Spy Unit 4.

If we do get Deathsaurus I really, really want a Transmetal 2 Megatron from it for SELECTS (unlikely because of Warden but hey, let me dream). Beside what else could he be retooled into? Leader Grimlock reshell with no wings?

Edit: Yes, I know, I'm obsessed with BW Megatron getting a figure in CHUG.

Given credible rumors of Fire Convoy and Siege Magnus being 50% RiD Magnus (honestly, they could retool him the rest of the way), I could see RiD Megatron from Deathsaurus.

That would require some major retooling even if he lacked all the extra modes. And since when do we have Fire Convoy rumours?

There's been a Fire Convoy rumor since before Earthrise was revealed, a credible leaker revealed the name/theme of the line before the NYCC reveal along with a bunch of cryptic hints that weren't all that cryptic that hinted at Snapdragon, Starscream, Scorponok, Doubledealer, etc., with one being "an RiD homage figure with a base mode and very Autobot-y colors".

Also BW Megatron deserves a CHUG figure, never apologize. ;)^

My reasons for BW Megatron are twofold, beyond simply "He's easily one of the greatest Megatron incarnations to the point even the Hasbro hall of fame count him as separate". Primal winning the fan vote pretty much made me go 'well, he need his opponent' and secondly it's because sadly none of his figures I had survived my childhood due to several unfortunate circumstances resulting in breaking, including the infamous GPS issues on his Transmetal form.

Beast Wars Megatron hasn't had a figure (beyond Botcon or Masterpiece, but I count the latter as separate) in a long time, unless one count the minor Japanese fiction which state the Legends G2 Megatron/Archforce as some form of him, but sadly this figure didn't come with a retooled head. BW Megatron's design, while outwardly similar in being a 'bucket head' is so unique to him that he just really need his own head tooling. All I know is the moment we get a suitably big dinosaur and/or dragon mold, he ought to be on the shortlist for retool...except Warden's BW hatred mean he won't be.

So, I emailed TFSource asking about their delays for the Seacons, and the email I received in reply didn't answer why there were delays... but did state that they'd received a shipping notice, and that their figures should be in the warehouse within the next week. So that's a bit of good news.

Additionally, I chatted with someone on Pulse, and they said they don't have any additional stock of Tentakil and Overbite "at this time". Given that the other Seacons had additional stock put up after their preorders started shipping, and these two haven't, who knows what will happen there.

You say that, but Bruton was twice almost considered for a nearly-made Fun Pub toy (the two proposed molds were FOC Grimlock and Prime First Edition Bulkhead). ;)

Yes and the story goes they asked people if anyone knew who Bruton was. Only one or two raised their hand, showing why not to make it.

To be fair, I feel like Selects has the slight advantage of a wider market than a Con exclusive. Mostly Con exclusives tend to be deep cut characters with a niche market at a higher pricepoint. If the market is one person, then they wouldn't make back the investment and it would be better to find a larger market. Selects meanwhile is at standard retail price (most places) and while still being more niche oriented, it still holds general appeal. If a figure looks cool, a parent might get it for their child.

And while Lord Impirious Delirious is so niche that Con's might avoid him in order to go for a different market, TF fans might be willing to buy it at retail price because it was so unique, casual fans might not like how Deathsaurus' colors looked, but like how the red fits the mold, parents might be trying to find their child the mainline figure and stumble across it and say "Wrong colors, but it works".

I would buy it and pretend it's TM2 Megatron until we got a proper update

I love how Ravage and Laserbeak are so interested while Ratbat and Red Guy just couldn't care less.

That is, until Blue Guy appears. That's when Red Guy gets excited. But Ratbat still doesn't give a hoot.

Also, those scissors are totally Soundwave-colored.
