Transformers Generations Selects Series Discussion
Re: Transformers Generations SELECTS Series Discussion
- Weapon: Thermal Sword
So, animation accurate Dinobots that combine? I mean, that's neat and all, but feels like a bit of a waste considering Studio Series 86 should be filling that role... Which fills me with a bit of worry/curiousity about that. It could just be a final UW set in addition to the SS86, but it's strange to me that Takara wouldn't just stick with SS86

We'll for the first time I'm extremely disappointed in TT. Should have been a new character.TT, you could have done better. Well at least my wallet is glad I guess.
Ironically, I will probably get it if they improved the flaws with Grimlock that have been documented.

Holy crap I hope this comes to Pulse like King Poseidon. Takara went all out, each figure has updates and those hands, feet, and swords! Definitely pre-ordering if I can.

Give me just the new accessories and I'm good.
And maybe Swoop, his legs never stay together and I don't wanna warp the plastic.

With UW, they came out 3-6 .months after the Hasbro releases, In some cases (Computron for example) the same time, so you knew not to waste money on the inferior Hasbro versions. This set is coming out 3 years after the fact. While it is superior, pretty much everyone who wanted Volcanicus already has one. I may see if I can get the empty packaging for cheap when this comes out if it is truly packaged as a UW set.
Bucket/Want List: Botcon 2016 Customization Class Ratchet (G2 Deco), or Customization Class Ratchet (Marvel Comics Deco) **would also be willing to pay for an Unpainted Botcon 2016 Ratchet, TT Legends Fortress Head (only) with working Electronics

I just realized that this is probably what Hasbro's announcing Tuesday as the ordering period is September 9th-October 6th, which would still start on September 8th in the United States

Similarly to God Neptune and the rest of the Takara Selects I reckon: cardboard box with a sleeve.

Have we seen any God Neptune package pics yet? A cardboard sleeve is probably a given, but was kind of hoping for a UW looking interior.

Guess we will see in time. In the meantime, I'm enjoying the fact that the Hasbro releases aren't over priced lol
Spoiler, its none of those things, just cartoon accurate colour schemes of the dinobots.

I'd expect at least a similar layout with the leader in the middle, flanked by the limb bots.
Upon closer inspection of the hands and feet, the hands are reused from King Poseidon, as are the foot guns on Volcanicus' (retooled?) chest. Feet are all new.

Takara Reveals their Version of Volcanicus with Cartoon Accurate Decos
- Motto: "'till All Are One"
So it turns out that the big tease for Takara's next reveal, which showed Volcanicus' headsculpt turns out to be.... Volcanicus. Power of the Primes is when there stopped being a difference between the toys released by Hasbro and Takara, but now Takara is showing us their take on Volcanicus. It is very reminiscent of their Devastator over Hasbro's with more cartoon accurate colour schemes and more accessories. You can check out all the photos below. It will be released next year in February and will be just a bit over $200, which is double the price the Hasbro version cost when released at retail.
Here is more info from the Hobbymizer Facebook page.

Studio Series 86 should be doing a Leader Grimlock and Slag. I would be surprised if the others don't show up in the line

Studio Series meaning the movie versions?...if so that's another pass for me.
Easy pass for takara's version too. And that is a bummer. I was hoping for different molds. The combiner effects take away from what they could have made them look more like the dinobots IMO.......

If the rumors are true, then it's new G1 versions based on the 1986 movie. Grimlock comes with a miniature Wheelie, and Slag comes with a Daniel. Both have had listings from Wal-Mart leak

No, Studio Series 86 meaning the 1986 G1 movie versions. That's why Studio Series 86 listings have also included Kup, Blurr, Jazz, Hot Rod, and Gnaw, as well as others iirc.

Wait weren't POTP dinobots already IN a G1 color scheme to begin with this version has new fists and feet anbd metallic paint on the dinobots big deal I'll be happy with the set I have from POTP IF and that's a B-I-G IF Takara were to do Masterpiece Slag Sludge Snarl and Swoop and then Hasbro releases their versions then I'd get those

Eh... go play with Energon or Universe Dinobots.
The only flaws I see with the Power of the Primes Dinobots are size, they would look better if they were voyagers. And Grimlock is a bit out of proportion but that's because he's the combiner core.
Please do tell me which Grimlock is miles better than this one. Classics? Fall of Cybertron who's made of butter package plastic? (I mean regular release)
Ontopic: They look better but I already have the team complete so pass for me.
Extra guns as far as I can see do look good.

I 3d design and print! Check out my instagram http://www.instagram.com/plasticpolygon3d for some Transformers weapons if you're interested. The War for Cybertron standard machine gun is ready as well as the Armada Optimus gun (smaller) and a Robotech Gunpod.
