It is a really good mold that I wish they could have used more. Not sure for who but both Siege Hound and Selects Hot Shot are fun Transformers and cool action figures, fun to transform and very posable.
Detritus is the obvious answer.
And a non-combining Swindle. Maybe even Rollbar, with a bit of retooling.

I really hope we are done with pointless redecos like non combining combiner limbs.

Well, the lambroclones and the Sandstorm have arrived, all early much to my chagrin. But wow are these 3 nice figures.

Spinout is my favorite Sunstreaker mold figures, and probably my favorite lambro overall. He is very nice, the red is perfect. Cordon is also really cool, love the lightbars, though he could have used some police script on the side.

Sandstorm is marvelous. He is what Maverick should have been all along. the paint work and detailing are great, he is easily my favorite Earthrise seeker of the 3 I've gotten, and my 3rd favorite WFC seeker after Redwing and Hotlink.

My Sandstorm arrived yesterday, and I have mixed feelings. The paint work and his alt-mode are fantastic, but he otherwise re-affirms my decision NOT to replace my CHUG Seekers with the Earthrise mold. The torso is just too boxy, and I keep thinking his arms look undersized, even though I don't think they really are. Also - and this may be an isolated issue on my figure or just this iteration of the mold - the panels on his forearms are an absolute bear to open. Nearly sheared off a fingernail trying to transform him. I also find the lack of landing gear both odd and amusing, especially since the CHUG Seekers had it so seamlessly integrated into their chests.

I don't mind him as a one-off purchase of a character who has not previously had an official figure released. He presented a perfect opportunity to try out a mold I would have otherwise skipped, and for that he's worth the price. That said, there's no way I could justify buying the other six characters. The CHUG mold may be smaller and less articulated, but aside from the huge missile launchers, I just think the proportions look better.

Although... I've always liked the look of G2 Ramjet, and I couldn't afford the FunPub exclusive. If HasTak releases him on the Earthrise mold, I suspect they'll easily have me on the hook for another $30.00.

GOD NEPTUNE AT MANDARAKE FOR ONLY 17k YEN!!!!

https://order.mandarake.co.jp/order/det ... st&lang=en

Then I try to buy.
Then I see that it's DHL shipping only.
Mandarake's DHL do not have the Amazon deal so it will cost at the very least 9k yen alone to ship a box of this size.
Then add full taxes and extra custom fees on top.

JFC. #-o

This ticked me off enough that I ended up buying it at Age 3 and Up.

https://order.mandarake.co.jp/order/det ... st&lang=en

320.20$CAN with the tax and free shipping is the best deal I'll ever be able to get.

My Volcanicus will finally have his rival.
Come see my latest creation, the COMPLETE combiner team, Scorponok and his Pretenders, forming SHELLSHOCK

I like Sandstorm, but man, the packaging... It was nearly impossible to get his "missiles" out of the plastic without destroying the plastic or the missile. In fact one of mine bend enough that you can see the fatigue mark on the stem by the tip.

I keep a pair of tiny wire snips handy for several reasons, and opening Transformers is one of them. The snips are tiny enough to slip between the figure and the plastic ties, and I can use them to cut the plastic around parts of the figure. I had to do that with Super Megatron. Thankfully I didn't have any problems with Sandstorm, but I know exactly what you are talking about.

I have a little cutter for the plastic ties, but the missiles didn't have those, they were just super tight in the plastic.

Finger Nail Trimmers do the same job... Just don't mix them up with the pair you keep in the bathroom. Bonus, the little cuticle blade some of them come with is good cut cutting the tape on the box flaps. All in one.
