Personally, although he looks interesting I have no interest in him. Since I have no knowledge or investment in Masterforce. To me, he's just a wacky Scorponok redeco.

Those mad lads actually did it. While it’s cool and I like it, it’s a light pass for now solely because I plan on leaving the Army later this year and will have to move all of my belongings back to my hometown so that takes priority for now sadly.
They call me “Tanker Chungus”!

This is exactly what the Generations SELECTS Series was made for. Pretty happy for those who wished for it.

Yes, I had to do that last year when my bank issued me a new card number.
As for when BZ will ship, most Hasbro selects have been on time or slightly early, so I would expect BZ to follow suit, unless it is a Takara Selects that we aren't aware of yet, then mandatory 2 month delay minimum.
Awesome Thank you.

Now we just need some 3P company to make capes for the Nine Destron Generals

I forgot about that with Black Zarak in zone. Does his chest get damaged like that as well?

Meanwhile, fingers crossed for Gigastorm, I guess? Trypticon is the only City Bot mold without a redeco now. Plus it wouldn't require much more retooling than Black Zarak.

Nah, he just gets zapped by the Autobot Space patrol Micromasters, and that's about it

While ER Scorponok did a really nice job homaging both the American Scorponok as seen in the Rebirth, and the various forms of Scorponok/Megazarak in the Headmasters Anime, This BZ has nice little nods to both Masterforce and Zone.
As for Gigastorm... Yes it would be easy, but It's not something I personally need/want. In fact the original Gigastorm (which was retooled from Trypticon) still scales really well with the modern BW figures. I'd rather see Metrotitan next personally.

You're missing out. It's a very good story, the best of the Japanese G1 trilogy in my opinion. Also, Devil Z, who later becomes Black Zarak, is probably the most evil of the Destron leaders in the entirety of G1. But even if this was just a Scorponok redeco like you said, it's still worth a double dip, because Scorponok is the best of the Titans, and there are enough differences between the 2. Now we definitely need a Commander Class Overlord to go with him. And having 2 CC figures schedules per year, I think Overlord is a definite possibility now.AllNewSuperRobot wrote:Personally, although he looks interesting I have no interest in him. I could go for an additional set of shoulder cannons for Scorponok, his proper "blaster" (maybe in a Weapons pack from Hasbro???), and even a proper Takara Headmasters cartoon head / G1 toy head for Scorponok with the more unique toy face and face shield.
I'll take the extra shoulder cannons and blaster for Black Zarak as well too please!

Oh I'm definitely down for that. About 5 years ago I had the chance to purchase a customized Titan Metroplex that was repainted as Metrotitan for about $250 shipped and it was a beautiful piece. I didn't pull the trigger and I've regretted it ever since.o.supreme wrote:Seibertron wrote:I've been waiting a long time for a Metrotitan repaint!

I tried with the Takara series. I think I got about halfway through Headmasters. It just wasn't doing anything for me.
As for double-dipping. Metroplex and Scorponok are currently still in their boxes, due to space issues. I haven't even seen what either looks like in person yet. I couldn't possible add another City Bot to that.

I can respect that, in fact I know a lot of fans that are the same. In fact, while some fans have hundreds, or even thousands of smaller bots in their collections, they may have few, if any larger ones simply because of space. I am the opposite. While characters like Prime, Megatron and Starscream have reached Icon status, Omega Supreme was my first, and to this day Favorite Transformer character ever, Titans and Combiners ARE what collecting is all about for me, so while my collection is smaller than most, it has all the BIG BOTS (well except Unicron...

Also, about the anime, I get it. It's not for everyone. I however have very strong pull towards it as it has been a part of the franchise for me, before most fans in North America even knew it existed, and it is a favorite of mine. While something like Marvel UK (for example), is something I have little interest in. I collected all the volumes that IDW released until they stopped, and neither the art, nor the stories were compelling for me. I'm an animation guy, and I always will be. Different strokes for different folks.

I like Headmasters, but its definitely a little more kiddie and a little boring in a few places. But Masterforce is my favorite of all of them.

Yeah, The Headmasters is the weakest of the three. It gets better toward the end, but it is obvious that it was Takara's first try at their own Transformers show on their own.AllNewSuperRobot wrote:I tried with the Takara series. Masterforce feels more like a fresh start and a breath of fresh air, though it's also very human-centric since the premise is that humans get to become Transformers themselves and fight to protect their own planet in the absence of the Cybertronian Transformers who left the planet years ago (though, some of them did stay behind in hiding, namely the Pretenders who also take on the forms of organic beings such as humans and demons). I was fine with this because I'm also a fan of human superhero series and mecha series, so the human Autobots and Decepticons didn't bother me. And the story got really good as it went along.
Victory is back to being Cybertronian-centric and feels more like a traditional Transformers series, but with a completely original cast of characters, a futuristic setting, and a larger ongoing storyline in its second half that gets bigger and bigger toward the end.

The high kicking Hardhead (a bot with a gun next to his head) and Galvatron's "demise", are some of the reasons Headmasters lost me. Then for whatever reason, a couple years later, I watched Zone. Which is... strange.
Following those I also tried the Takara BW series and disliked them even more. Still I would like to see Gigastorm represented through the modern Trypticon mold.

Yeah, it was pretty much after that low point that the show got better (and a bit dark and violent at times, oddly, despite the otherwise brightly-colored tone).AllNewSuperRobot wrote:and Galvatron's "demise", are some of the reasons Headmasters lost me.
Yeah, one kinda has to know what to expect when going into these Japanese shows.AllNewSuperRobot wrote:Following those I also tried the Takara BW series and disliked them even more.
These two blog reviews of Second and Neo pretty much hit the nail on the head for both. A must read for anyone considering watching the two but before going into either of them, IMHO.

Man, I wish. Sadly, the Ark is gonna be the last new Titan mold before the size class is put to bed after this year, with a second Commander class toy taking its place instead.Epsilon Delta wrote:The more Titans they make, the less they have to choose from, which means soon, very soon, my dream of Majin Zarak may come to fruition...
