I checked my bank account after ordering, and Hasbro Pulse did charge me for the pre-order and then immediately issue a return of the charge. That's pretty standard practice to make sure the card you use, at least at the time of pre-ordering, can cover the cost of the item.

Found this image of Star Convoy which helps gove reason to the choice of mold. In the original 80s art, the evolution was clearly depicted, and this toy replicates that.

would have been a little bit nicer if titan master hotrod could sit in his chest like godbomber but still a pass for me having a reissue of the original. The figure will probably see some add ons to make it more like the orig similar to optimal Otimus where I wont be able to justify the price of the figure and add ons to make it be able to do/look like the orig.

Star Convoy does make me wish I had picked up CW Hot Rod now as an analogue to Micromaster Hot Rodimus.

I think it's Snaptrap holding Slammer (Metroplex's tank). That is what the last silhouette looks like.

Star Convoy is what the mold should have been in the first place. Not saying the original is bad (I don't have it), but Star Convoy fits the evolution theme a bit better. Really wants it next to Nemesis Prime.

Yeah, I passed on the previous version(s) of Evolution Prime, but this Star Convoy thing has me intrigued.

Also, please please please please give us the Seacons! I think that's the last of the G1 combiner teams that I'm interested in.

Truck mode and the cab figure pretty much suck, but I love the combined mode.

I agree with the price! I am going to think about it before I hit that pre-order button.

I'm excited we're getting a Star Convoy figure, as I've wanted one for a while now, but alas, the price and the reuse and remold of the figure it's using is disappointing to me... I'd have rather them go with a sleek figure that could stand alone and then justify it's price as an exclusive. idk

Pretty sure that's his shield upside down. The other point would be lost in the silhouette of his forearm. The angle just makes the other side look straight.

I wonder is Star Convoy will have the selects packaging or if they'll just use the Takara Packaging. Just going with the Takara packaging would probably save them money.

How do you know that Takara won't be using hasbro packaging? I mean this is just Takara's first selects release, Hasbro might give them the packing...

They probably have no choice. It's the price they get from their overseas supplier by not being a direct channel for the figure in the US (as is always the case with Takara toys and even more so with TTMall exclusives). This is how much they have to charge to make a profit of carrying that toy. Its either that or they just don't carry it. BBTS isnt privy to Hasbro's dealings, they just ordered this exclusive leader from their suppliers as they do everytime for every other toy.

If you are in the US, BBTS might still be the best choice even without the pile of loot. If the cost difference is only $5 and BBTS has their $4 shipping, you are only looking at $9 above the Hasbro Pulse price. If you don't have Hasbro Pulse Premium and the free shipping that comes with it, and you are further from Hasbro distribution center in western PA, then Hasbro's price plus shipping may end up being more than it would be at BBTS.

It would have been even more even a year ago when BBTS didnt charge the sales tax.
