And the weird thing is I never read the IDW comics nor care about them. Still, I think the IDW designs are among the best the TF universes offered.
They are but that's because some of the artists involved make a big effort to have designs that are "possible", like Alex Milne did with Tarn. He also designed a similar looking Bludgeon, which I will post about shortly in a news post. The artists also pay homage to G1 looks and keep the designs mechanical with standard proportions, so aside from maybe some features on the face, the body types based on IDW designs would fit well in a CHUG collection (as they indeed have in the past with Swerve, Ultra Magnus and Skids).
And for Tarn, the character design has since become a legacy design (meaning used in more than one place) so he's integrating himself into the all encompassing "G1" lore as either a high ranking decepticon or simply a perfect Decepticon soldier, which can also be an army builder (imagine a Prime vehicon on major steroids).
Nemesis Primal wrote:Yeah, that was my reaction as well. After that last batch of leaks I threw everything we had into an Excel sheet and actually counted it out into hypothetical waves based on the order they leaked in (and this is obviously outdated now that we know both the identity of the Commander/Titan and that Skyquake may have been pushed back) and posted it, and I think the conclusion that was reached amongst those who commented on it was that we might have 5-waves-worth of listings leaked.

Not to be alarmist, but this will definitely cause a problem to fans who still preffer shopping at brick and mortar (which do include me and O.Supreme). With that kind of case loadout, we can't afford to skip a wave and have a bot resurface down the road. But that is cool of Hasbro to have such variety in the year, havent seen that since Combiner Wars.

Commander is Armada prime, he's on the poster. Titan is not 100% clear though but a lot of evidence points towards it being the Nemesis to battle the Titan Ark bot and it's face would be what we see in the middle of the poster since that face is different from Tarn.
FMA refers to a show/manga called Full Metal Alchemist. I, my wife, and several others saw an instant resemblance to one of the more dramatic moments of the show when we saw Leo prime's lion face. Just search "full metal alchemist Nina Alexander" on google images to see if you see it to. It won't mean anything to you though, since it's more the twist that scars that image in our mind rather than just the look of it.
Speaking of Leo Prime, I still think they went the wrong way with the lion face. I wouldn't have expected them to go full cartoony ala the MP but I was looking at the original toy and that face is perfect middle ground which Hasbro should have gone for instead.
