That's a bit disappointing.
Especially after the over-engineering we had on other toys to hide the real kibble behind fake kibble.

Those arms are "visible" only if you tell yourself they are arms in vehicle mode. I find 5hem perfectly integrated in the vehicles, true to the G1 original.
The only valid complaint in this situation would be if the bot HANDS were visible and obvious in vehicle mode. Like for too many jets.

Because these never appeared in the Marvel comics.

Honestly I'm glad he doesn't come with those, he would've been more expensive, and that Optimus head moment is iconic, I'd have to print it if it didn't come with it.

Purple Soundwave and if they're not dead set on price point being the same for every one of these, probably Nightbeat from that awful Minerva tooling.Razorbeast88 wrote:AcademyofDrX wrote:Per JTPrime, there should be two other releases in the comic line.

Who do yall think they'll be?
Is there a chance those that wanted the purple Soundwave with a mouth will get it?

My money is on a Megatron with a black (or even blue!) helmet. Megatron is a major character and has a very different comic look. I would guess the Siege mold, but Earthrise would also make sense. The only arguments I have against that are that they might want a second Autobot, and they might be holding off for a new mold for SS86.

I suspect we won't see Megatron this time around. Although he would go well thematically with Grimlock and Shockwave, specially if the next release is Ratchet, given his importance in that glorious second arc of the comic. But Soundwave seems like the easier choice, and there were either leaks or rumors he was happening already, can't remember which.
It doesn't really matter though, as I'm pretty sure that if these releases sell well enough, Hasbro might start doing a comic capsule every year. They've already dipped their toes in it so to speak, with Wreckers Springer, Jhiaxus and the whole Nova Prime/Senators/Miner Megatron etc capsule. So I can totally see them doing 4 "Comic Series" sets a year if these do well too.

He would make sense with Grimlock and Shockwave and the whole issues 5 to 8 theme. But at the same time, even as a big Ratchet fan, I have to admit that Soundwave is a way more popular character, so there's a good chance he's the remaining Marvel toy.

Unless the leader soundwave that is coming out is done in purple in the mainline. Sandstorm is an interesting deviation from the more cartoon looking toys we've had in generations the past few years

My bet is the leader Soundwave is the purple version with 4 cassettes. All but confirmed already it is the netflix voyager mold too

Considering the pricing of the Shattered Glass Soundwave set, I'm hesitant to predict any more than 2 cassettes. If you removed the $7-10 markup from the comic, that set was already Leader price.D-Maximal_Primal wrote:william-james88 wrote:Rtron wrote:william-james88 wrote:Ratchet makes the most sense. Not only that but the cassettes are from the Siege engineering, meaning that by SS86 standards, you basically get only one cassette.
I'd be very impressed if the (2?) cassettes that will come with this Soundwave would be Core Class level instead of the Siege Micromasters.

Same here! Plus the zillion copies of Blitzwing in the Evolution packaging that no one asked for. I've yet to see a single United figure at either Walmart or Target in multiple locations.
What's crazy is that even Amazon looks jacked up right now. For some reason they have Windblade at $28 instead of $25, Animated Prime at $49 but with a delivery date of May (sold from other than Amazon). Tigerhawk is listed on there for like $80 lmao! Usually Amazon is a great fall back option and always in stock but right now it's not looking good. I might order the rest of the Wave 1 figures from there though.
