I have to ask: what pattern? What Combiner has had 100% original molds from the get-go starting with Combiner Wars (taking Superion with Slingshot and Menasor with Brake-Neck into account)?

G1 combiners also had shared engineering. Combiner components, by definition, all have a higher level of conformity.

I think the pattern was more with legacy menasor itself, as sk far, the released stunticons looked like completely separate molds from each other.

So was CW Menasor, funnily enough Wildrider shares a mold yet again

The pattern I'm referring to is the other four Stunticons being 100% new tools, sharing no parts with each other.

Video Review of Legacy Dragon Megatron

Postby william-james88 » Sun Sep 25, 2022 8:56 pm

We have two videos regarding Transformers Legacy leader class Transmetal II Megatron (aka Dragon Megatron). One is a turnaround video from Smyths Toys. The other is a video review from PrimevsPrime. It has a lot of comparison to other recent figures so you can get a good sense of how big it is. It definitely towers over the recent deluxes and will make fans of big leader class toys quite happy. We have screenshots below. You'll let us know what you think.

Ugh, the entire beast mode torso just literally hangs off the back of his robot mode.

At least on the old toy the chest doors became something resembling a butt flap hind guard, but this one's entire front dragon body just hanging off the back as useless kibble is just sad, especially since it appears to take up the space where the dragon tail is supposed to hang down from as the robot mode helmet's plume.

The dragon chest hanging off the back is kinda funny, but I weirdly don't find it that annoying.
It does kinda sorta look like something resembling a cape from other angles in my eyes. :-?

Overall I still love how the rest of it looks, I'll still get it. Just thought it'd be funny if he had the same face the original toy had - maybe that'll be saved for Cyrotek? (Or a one-off use much like the total flub with T-Wrecks? )

I like him, he's a lot bigger than I expected he would be. He isn't a replacement for my original, but he'll go fine with PotP Optimal Optimus.

Never owned the original, but this one looks really nice. Much more streamlines in robot mode than the original. I'll be happy to add it to my collection.
My Amazon Pre-Order states its set for February.

For those that still own the original TM II Megatron, how's that vac metal holding up? ( Unfortunately mine was sold in the purge of 2007). I can't wait to see a thorough review with comparisons between original and new. I think the dragon body hanging in the back is kind of wonky as well. Also, I King of miss the spring mechanism for the wings that the original had.

I think the biggest offender to the vac metal on these were humid or damp locations, any of the bots I've ever owned didn't peel like other peoples and I lived in a very dry climate. The only issue with mine was wear at the joints from being a kid when I bought them.

Makes sense. I live in a fairly warm climate, and never had any issues. Then again, I only owned my TMs for about 8 years. My son did pick up a used Tigerhawk at a flea market a couple years back that seems to be holding up, but that had much less vac metal than most TMs.

So, Breakdown. I am not that fussed about him considering he is going to be the back of a leg for pretty much his whole life. So really, to me, it matters almost nothing what he looks like.

Anyways, it is kinda incredible how my favorite titan and the bet quality titan came out in back to back years

My statement was not inaccurate.

And to make it clear, any further comments from you or anyone else, in any thread unless one specifically for talking about video reviewers, where any reference is made to reviewers and their credibility in toys, will be cause for a warning.

Do not respond to this post in any way. This is a public announcement.

That same information was already posted in the Buzzworthy Bumblebee thread (since it's for a Buzzworthy Bumblebee 4-pack) over five hours ago.
