Miner Megs actually looks really good! Feels like the way this mold was always meant to be. I'm surprised they made a new head sculpt though, maybe the old one was gang-molded with the original chest/shoulders and it was easier to just make a new one? But hey, the new one's slightly more accurate, can't complain (those new forehead markings! )

Another interesting note, the pattern on the shoulder stripes is reversed from how it was on the headless, probably factory reject copies (black-yellow-black vs yellow-black-yellow, respectively). The new pattern is more accurate, so it'll be interesting to see which version gets used.

That head was always based on IDW Miner Megatron.

Do you mean a 3rd run? Because Siege Jetfire was just recently at EE for preorders and is now sold out, luckily I put in a preorder back in October.

"SG" = "Shattered Glass", not "Siege".

In recent history, I recall "Powerdasher" Zetar from the Selects line, and "Nosecone" from the Combiner Wars Computron set (that's the CW version, not Warriors Unite). Those didn't make sense either .

That head was always based on IDW Miner Megatron.

It's subtle, but it's actually a new sculpt. It's most visible on the forehead, where on the new one the red markings are molded thicker and cover more area, and the caution stripe part has a v-shape to it. The cheek guards are slightly different too. That's why I'm surprised, they already had a perfectly good headsculpt designed for this very purpose, yet they made a new one anyway.

Considering Hasbro's recent Dialcone spree with Ironhide, Trailbreaker, Bluestreak etc... I'm surprised they did not try to make this Microchange Browning or even Thomas Sullivan.

I think the most interesting bit is that even though IDW is done with Hasbro, Hasbro isn't done with IDW between Velocitron Blurr, Tarn and now Megatron. Hopefully they keep that ball rolling.

Yeah it's been a while for him.

I actually wouldn't mind if Legacy also gave us the G1 vetsion, which is the white Springer redeco. All they have to do is repaint the Siege Springer mold.

I'd like that new Drift as well. I still have my Gen Drift from way back then. Back when deluxes where big, chunky, complex, and only cost 15$CAN at FULL price.

Speaking of that Gen Drift, anyone know why he's sold for so much on the Japanese market? He's always around 10K yen at Mandarake and for much more from Japanese eBay sellers.

I think Siege Deadlock / Earthrise Drift is one of the great misses of Hasbro in the last few years.
