Battle damage.... I could only see being done as a completely separate (variant) figure.

And as for THE Dinobots, once they are picked up again, it won't be with Swoop/Sludge/Snarl/Slag. It'll be Grimlock. He's popular enough to warrant a new mold, and needs it anyways to fit with the cartoon accuracy direction.

Maybe not all the Dinobots are as popular as Grimlock, but I think Swoop is plenty popular, and the Dinobots as a whole would be popular enough. It seems that collectors want all five Dino's because you need to complete the pack. I would be happy with just Swoop, but I would really like all five.

Between this guy and the new MP Megs, I will need to get MP Primal this year at some point. I don't want any other BW MP figure, as I don't want/need the whole MP lineup, but the PotP Primal just can't stand up to these 2, and for both Dinobot and Megs, this will be the version of them on my (somewhat out of scale) BW Shelf.

Well, there is Dinobot II, who’s implied to somehow have at least part of the same soul. It’s admittedly a pretty deep cut, but he is still a show character.

Maybe so, but do you really want this figure to be even more complicated and possibly effect its stability just to add some battle damage from one scene? I doubt its worth it.

why not? they did it for MP megatron. his damaged parts are straight from the movie where he fights optimus.

Difference is Megatron's chest isn't integral to the structure of the figure, Dinobot's is featuring multiple pinned hinges. It isn't a part on Dinobot that could easily be popped on and off.

As for the G1 Dinobots is that other than G2 repaints there really isn't much else that can be done with their molds (aside from Swoop's red and blue chests). Sharing parts between each other works for PotP, but wouldn't fly on an MP.

Yes but he wasn't the same character, nor did he share the mold. Plus, Transmetals are not even a certainty for the MP line at this stage, so TM 2 are way off, if ever.

As they have said 'no' to MP Gestalts, the only G1 MP figure I want is MP Galvatron, couldn't care less about the rest. So sticking to the BW MP line was an easy sell to me.

Takaratomy Transformers MP-41 Dinobot (Beast Wars)

One of important character in the Beast Wars series, Dinobot finally release in the hi-end toy line. As an Masterpiece, Dinobot has such a crazy transforming process. Lots of fun when you flip pieces around to change from the dinosaur to robot. fully articulated joints make him really poseable that can easy to get him in action just like in the show. rich accessories and gimmick such as the light up eye feature, rotating shield catching all his classic moment nicely.
