But since Season 1 Megatron (the biggest character of Season 1) was designed to be the cornerstone that all of the BW Masterpieces would be designed around, Transmetals of anyone likely aren't gonna happen.

Not to mention how Japan just simply gives no beans about Transmetals. It's ironic, when you think about it. The two more popular seasons of the show in the West were the least popular ones in Japan. Japan only really cares about BW Season 1 and... maybe Lio Convoy.

Those are repaints, so its irrelevant. A real comparison would bethe odds of getting a Transmetal MP compared to a G1 original mold like Dreadwing.

That Japanese interview about MP BW Megatron said that BW Megatron was designed to be the figure around which all of the BW MPs would be designed in terms of size and scale, with comparison charts made for the characters based on how they appeared alongside Megatron in the show. None of the Transmetals were ever shown alongside Season 1 Megatron.

I still dont see how that confirms anything. I see it that MP BW Megatron is the one they chose to base the scale on of all the characters. So Dinobot, for instance, is made to be in scale that way. But then you can simply use Dinobot as a scale for the transmetals, which would still make season 1 Megs the main scale since every other scale is derived from him.

I think what he's trying to get across is that the Transmetals are generally larger characters than the season 1 guys, and because S1 Megatron is what all characters in the BW line are scaled around, a lot of the MP Transmetal characters, if made, would be larger and thus more expensive than MP-43 (take Rampage, for example).

I imagine that someday, years from now, we will get TM MPs. But let's wait until we get the entire season 1 cast first, even if Megs, Dinobot, and a reissued Primal are the only 3 MPs I plan to get from BW

Being the figure that everything else is scaled around isn't the same as being the ceiling of the line. Plus I would think a TM would be cheaper even if it's bigger because there's really no need to do sound chips in another Megatron and the transformations for TM characters are faaaar more straightforward than the season 1 designs meaning less panels and a smaller parts count.
