Missing Link Arcee looks pretty superb in a classic G1 display. She is huge, like a lot of post Diaclone era figures, so she looks pretty big next to Missing Link Sunstreaker.
I don't think I have ever been as excited to own a Transformers toy as this one and it has 100% delivered on my excitement. I do think the Prototype looks better than the Anime. The anime colours head is... a little odd... I much prefer the proportions of the face on the Prototype version.
Someone pick up that Matrix on the ground! Anyone but Ultra Magnus.

I can't read Japanese but the sign says taking pics or filming is prohibited?
I love how these displays uses state-of-the-art blu tack to pin down figures.

I remember buying mine for about £60 on eBay. During a time of extreme financial difficulty, I had to sell my collection.
Movie Preview Magnus now sells for over £700. Absolutely insane.
Really looking forwards to getting my grubby paws on anime Bumble and Cliff later this month.

Was it truly SOLD for that price, or was the price set by a hopeful enthusiast?

I believe it sold. They are incredibly rare now. Can't remember the run, but it was either 750 or 1500. Something very low like that.
I've seen more Diaclone Powered Convoys for sale in recent years than the eHobby one.

I believe the numbers being thrown around is 1,500 units. I use to own it too. And the even more limited Shining ("Pissing") Magnus. Believed to be around 800 units. Offloaded them to finance the divorce. But I don't consider these to be rare. Tracked & bought them back in 2013(?). Now, some of the Lucky Draw items are rare. But that's a story for another day. Apologies for going off topic.

But I could buy a Quintus Prime figure, paint it white, and swap his head for Arcee's to make a Lea TF.

As if AI is the work of the Devil himself.
Also, you are completely missing the point of my post. The goal was to show the ACTUAL 1980s FASHION that directly inspired the G1 Arcee toy.
Your virtuous examples does not show it by a long shot.
