There has been a lot of speculation but we finally have the identity of the third Movie Masterpiece toy coming out this year and it is no other than Barricade. This confirmation comes from Amazon Spain. This shows that it will not be a Toysrus exclusive in Europe (it being an exclusive to any retailer is not confirmed either). The price is 94 Euros, with free shipping, and it can be preordered right now on the site.

It says "Masterpiece Barricade de Transformers 5". Does that mean that we will get Barricade in his TLK look? If so, I would be very happy with that, as I personally love his new look but don't like it's deluxe figure all that much. (It's a good figure, though I think it doesn't match the movie look all that well, body-type-wise at least).

That being said, I would be okay if it's his original look, which I do presume it will be considering this is for the anniversary and all. Hey, maybe in ten years we'll get MP TLK figures.

"Transformers 5" is just the line it's marketed under, nothing more. So like Bumblebee and Optimus Prime, he'll probably have his 2007 to DotM look.

Presumably, what with both Optimus and Bumblebee being new molds. Though, we still haven't gotten a look at it yet.

If its not a new mold, what would it be?

What existing mold would the use for this?

Given how both Prime and BB are new molds its highly unlikely Barricade would just be a retool.

Battle Ops Bumblebee, RotF Leader Optimus Prime were initial guesses for the other two, for Barricade it would have been the Human Alliance one :lol:

You are right. totally forgot about HA Barry. I guess that'd be the only option.

Still its more likely he'll be a new mold just like Prime and Bee.

It has been a while since we had any news of Movie Masterpiece Barricade, to the point where we thought it may have been a wrong listing, like The Last Knight Voyager Bumblebee.

But, we have new evidence that this toy will come out along with more details. Collector shop Toy Loonatic, in Malaysia, is now accepting preorders for this toy. They wrote this on their Faebook page:

PREORDER:

Transformers Masterpiece MPM5 Barricade (Hasbro global release ver)

Full Preorder Price = RM360 (Preorder price might be lower depends on conversion rate)
Deposit = RM100
Estimated Arrival = Jan-Feb 2018
Preorder deadline: While preorder slot available

The price given is the equivalent of $85.26 USD so in line with the early notion of this toy being at the same price point as MPM 3 Bumblebee. Him coming out at the very begining of next year means we should be seeing images of him soon so stay tuned!

Thank Primus we're actually getting Barricade! I was so worried that he wouldn't get made at all, especially wen no one brought him up at HasCon. All that's left is to keep an eye out for NYCC.

Also, this is a bit of speculation, but I have a feeling that 2018 would still continue the MPM line, with Jazz, MV1 Megatron, Bonecrusher. I have saved Ironhide, Ratchet, and Starscream (along with a potential Blackout/Grindor) since they'd be mostly unchanged in ROTF. Who knows what surprises show up later on!
