Legion - 2010
Legends - T30
Deluxe - Classics 2-pack
Leader - PotP
Can't wait until we get it in Titan class
It's got a fairly heavy amount of stylisation and casts a very different silhouette to the original design; and in general carries itself with what feels like an edgier, angrier feel.
Not that that's a bad thing; quite the opposite - I love the Classics Voyager and will sing its praises to the ends of the Earth! I just find it funny that the original design is represented in every size class other than the one a lot of people would agree is the size class that's 'right' for Optimus
What about combiner wars?
A bit too beefy and bulky to really feel like a representation of the G1 design to me. Just my opinion tho

Isn't the T30 Legends an IDW design? (Still, your point stands)

Very true - though since that design is based on and has very few differences to the original (the only real difference noticeable on the toy would be the shoulder pads), I still count it. Maybe I'm just weird

Agreed. It looks so much better than the previous Rodimus. Seems to me the previous one's face sculpt just didn't look like him and he looked a little too skinny in the waist and chubby in the chest. IDW Roddy is kinda skinny but he isn't proportioned like that figure.
I kinda hope they do the same thing with Perceptor, I wanted him in the beginning but I realized how werid the face sculpt is and it doesn't really look like Percy. Doesn't even have his chin plate. IDK why but it is my personal pet-peeve when beards are not done correctly.

Heck several of the other PCC Designs would make very interesting toys at the different scale too, the advantage is we'd get expansions to existing premises (Like Dinobots & Constructicons) and yet also get new Characters - also a 5 part Construction combiner has repaint/remould potential for Takara to make into a version of 6 Builder or The Autobot Build team too.
But If they made that cute little Armoured Car or half track into a brand new robot that would be delightful or what about the Monster truck as a Voyager.
People keep hoping they'd make at least some new toys for a change and not just nostalgia farm exclusively - but perhaps you can get a "new toy feeling" by nostaliga farming more obscure things - as was done with Overlord I guess.
Also I do still really want a Proper Thunderwing sometime - so I hope it's not off the table for Prima or Megatronus to be the basis for him in some form - heck the existing mould or a new oner - either is really going to suit him as if you do an IDW's version you can make him a Torso unit and function like a true Mega Pretender too (pretty much). Or they could go for a more G1 look and use the Overlord mould family as the base (Prima looks quite close already). I don't mind if it's an exclusive or a boxed set or if it even take 2 years to show up _ I just think he's super appropriate.
Kind alike I wouldn't mind a CW Sunstorm sometime down the road too.

I think about the only things I prefer about TR Hot Rod now are the colour scheme and the fact he has a cockpit. Then again, I don't think I've seen this version's car mode alone yet...
yea, i wish the trailer still had its battle station mode, but even as it is, i might just display the Hot Rod part as Rodimus Prime while having TR/Legends Hot Rod as Hot Rod

Also, Hybrid Style is basically Scout class-sized.

So then the combiner wars one should count even more than the legends one as it doesn't deviate from the original design it just has sightly different proportions.

Presumably the same way they'll get around the colour discrepancies between Primal's regular and Optimal forms - however that ends up being done. Bit of a non-answer isn't it, I don't even know why I chimed in now.

I think you might've just answered your own question there
My guess is that the cockpit part will be where most of the orange/blue for the transmetal chest is, hence hiding it on the back of the standard robot mode. Similarly, most of the black and white colours in the regular Primal that wouldn't fit with the Big Boy's colours heme will probably end up as a backpack part.
