I might've just missed Moonracer & Blackwing....Good to know they're here in OR.

Shame we won't see an Apelinq/Primal Prime repaint. Granted technically the 'proper' upgrade is Primal Prime/Sentinel Maximus but it doesn't quite match up with mold.

I picked up Rippersnapper yesterday and Elita-1 today. Both are fun. I like them. I like the Torso mode on Elita. Better than Grimlock. Beast mode for Rippersnapper is just awesome.

Seriously, how could you go wrong?

I'm hoping Target sees wave2 soon -- my Walmarts aren't as reliable for keeping up on TF inventory. I picked up a second Elita-1 for my friend; definitely digging her torso mode as well.

Also, the Grimlock I ordered on Ebay back in December has finally come in the post today. He's not as god-awful as I've heard, sure the T-Rex mode is a bit awkward and the Combiner torso is a bit floppy, but overall he's a lot of fun. Not to mention his collector's card made me laugh, "VECTOR GRIMLOCK, peers into future to see when Grimlock king"

Combiners being fun is what has made me slowly hunt down Combiner Wars stuff to supplement the PotP releases and why I'm somewhat displeased with the possibility of combiner lineup being unfinished.

Btw, out of G2 Superion, G2 Bruticus and Computron which is the best set? One reason I'm sticking to the G2 version beyond ease of acquisition is that I already got a G2 Menasor. Oh and Liokaiser, which frankly I love way more than I should given that most people dislike it. Tempted to grab Computron because I intend to get a complete Abominus.

I generally don't mind having some G2 elements in my collection, as it's mostly Combiner Wars and Titans Return stuff except Generations Deadoubleader, meaning most characters I have are from the late '80 and onward and even the classic ones (Optimus, Megatron and Starscream) are either closer to their G2 selves (TR Optimus and Megatron) or a modernized design (Starscream, who seem more comic-inspired in robot mode).

I'm really torn between Bruticus and Computron, especially because the latter would really be a good companion to Abominus. However, Bruticus is a companion piece to G2 Menasor in their neon glory.

Very true, but you could also say that the revision waves prevented many people from getting wave 5 as well since the stores stocked up on the revision waves before wave 5 was available (if wave 5 ever was truly available).

But that revision wave was released after wave 5. So the ordering for the revision wave was done after the ordering for wave 5.

All TRUs in my country got wave 5 (Walmarts too actually) and then the twinferno revision wave came after.

Not that revision wave, the one with all the extra Blurrs and Scourges is what killed the entire late wave distribution in my area. At first I thought I was being stupid and impulsive when I tracked down most of wave 4 at Walgreens. Turns out it was a good move as the all the stores by me seemed to have a neverending supply of revision wave 2.

Edit: my walmart still has 3 Blurrs.

Pulling this back to Power of the Primes...

Turns out Elita-1's and Starscream's Enigmas are different molds! In general, it looks like they're gang-molded with the Voyagers, but I can't spot anything pink on Starscream... unless it's red painted over, like Grimlock's is clear plastic painted silver.

Ok guys, I just now logged every Japanese PotP release vs Hasbro releases and wouldn't you know it: TakaraTomy is skipping releases again. Not surprisingly, they're retools with only one or two changed parts:

- Alpha Trion with Landmine
- Megatronus with Bomb-Burst
- Rodimus Unicronus

Not that it really matters at first sight, but they may have special plans for them.

So with PotP ending sooner than later, it's pretty safe to say there's not going to be a "Unite Warriors" version of Abominus, right?

Just asking because I'm very confident I'll see Rippersnapper and HunGurr very soon in one of the local retail stores.
In the past I've had no problem being patient waiting for U.W. combiners... But if there's no need, I'll start buying Terrorcons asap.

It's already been revealed that Japan are just getting the same terrorcons as the west so next time you see them...grab them

Ok, so finally having read up on the entire thread and catching all the reveals, and also picking up a few figures, some thoughts:

Reveals

Primal: Not perfect, but I am really excited for him. I've been watching the entire Beast Wars series since I got them on DVD, and I really like him as a character. and his Primal body is awesome. I personally am a big fan of his beast mode.

Deluxes: Novastar is disappointing to me. I still will get her, but seeing as how she seems to be the lone repaint with a new head other than Inferno in the line, it's a bit sad.

Prime masters: all 3 look good, no complaints.

End of the line

kinda sad really. 2 combiners complete with 5 limbs and 3 torsos. it's also sort of sad that of the 5 voyagers of the line, I now have 4. In February. geez.

Still wondering how they will finish the 12 primes. we have 8 revealed, and Onyx with Predaking (I'm taking it as that is the only version we are getting of him). So maybe an unrevealed wave 4 of Prime masters?

And I am holding out hope for Monstructor and Piranhacon boxsets.

I'm also hoping Repugnus is actually a PotP mold so I can have an even number of limbs to form a combiner should I actually want to at some point (Starscream with Dreadwind, Blackwing, Blastoff, and a 3 wheeled $2 from a flea market Dragstrip minus weapons; Elita or Inferno (or even Sky Lynx, but doubtful) with Moonracer, Novastar, Jazz, and Repugnus). Man that would be an odd Autobot combiner

New figures I got

So I got Battletrap and the wave 2 voyagers:

Battletrap is every bit as awesome as I had heard he would be. and having him with his Botcon self is amazing, I love the pair of them together. 2 different concepts but 2 amazing toys. I should just buy the G1 version so I can have all 3 Battletraps.

Elita-1 is awesome, much better than Starscream. If not for the combined mode, I would believe Elita was the original intent of the mold. I did need to swap her feet after opening her, but it was not a big deal. The combined mode isn't that great, but she will most likely never combine. She's great, go get her.

Hun-Gurr on the other hand has let me down. He is the opposite of Elita really: Combined mode is awesome!!! He is going to make a great Abominus. But his bot mode will not stand up! he cannot balance and not fall over. And the beast mode is very weird, I sort of like it but sort of don't too.

The only good side is that it makes for a nice symmetrical set of arms/legs with moonracer, something I need in my combiners.
