Oh crap, I misread that, too. Puch/Counterpunch is going to be one complicated figure basically having five modes: Punch, Counterpuch, car, arm, and leg. I was happier thinking he wasn't going to be a combiner and they'd be able to do something more G1 with the figure like giving it proper four arms. But either way I'm buying two.

Either way, stoked for Punch. Now I gotta hope that when Nemesis, Punch/Counterpunch, Blastoff, and Repugnus come in stock, I can scoop them up.
As for the final 2 Prime Masters, what if towards the end of the year we get 2 new boxsets, one with Monstructor and one with Dinoking, and they come with the final 2?

You know, what if this is a new mold or a heavy retool and the tradeoff for making 2 separate robot modes was ditching the combiner peg? The prime armor might be just that (armor) in this case.
8 steps to go from autobot to decepticon sounds like a little more than just a simple retool of an existing mold.
Nathaniel Prime wrote:I watched Emgo's review of Optimal Optimus yesterday, and I was a teensy bit disappointed. I mean, he only looks great in bot and munky modes, ok in "jet" mode(it gets a pass because that's what the original toy did), but I was most disappointed with Optimus Primal. I was willing to forgive the lack of munky mode for him because I thought he'd look good in spaceship/surfboard/slab mode, but no. It was just Primal folded up, with his giant backpack forming the front half. I was then willing to forgive THAT if Primal himself looked great and integrated into OPOP more, but double whoopsie. Primal only looks good in front, nowhere else, and he is only just a backpack for basically all modes. The cockpit can't fit a Titan/Prime Master, his weapons look awkward, and Optimal Optimus' munky mode only looks great with Primal integrated to it.
All that said, he's not a bad figure. He is definitely not perfect, but good. I like him. Is he worth retail price? For me, no. I might get him if he goes on sale though. For extreme BW fans though, I guess you'd probably like him.

It does to me too. But.... has there ever been an exclusive that has an all new mold before?...I can't remember if there has been. I've always known one to be a retool a just repaint of a previous mold.
Just riffing here but do the Clones from TR count? Or Deluxe CW Groove? Even Shuttle Blast off? The last two weren't really "new" but new to the Western market.Nicorange wrote:NTESHFT wrote:TF-fan kev777 wrote:Emerje wrote:JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:O crap, misread. There have been new-mold exclusives, but only the animated stuff are coming to mind.
