What appears to be a Transformers Prime "Beast Hunters" Voyager prototype has appeared on the Chinese social website weibo. The figure appears to be a heavy retool of the "Robots in Disguise" Voyager Optimus Prime mold, and is speculated to be the rumored "Beast Hunters" Voyager Ultra Magnus. As you can see below the figure features many similarities to Ultra Magnus as he appears in IDW's Transformers Prime: Rage of the Dinobots miniseries.

Actually it looks more like a retooled PRiD Voyager Optimus Prime, with a new chest piece, head and new backpack.

If that's true, it's a step backwards for poor Maggie.

I was looking at the spikes and wings and assumed it was the BH Optimus mold, but you're right: it appears to be the Prime Prime mold.

I wouldn't call it a step backwards, though. It's a good mold, and maybe we should be happy they're not just repainting the BH OP mold in blue and white.

I meant from retool, to repaint, to new mold (not counting RiD UM), now back to retool from FoC on. Poor guy.

Awesome finding! That should confirm the Walmart Voyager UM earlier. Me, I like it. I'm okay with the retooling since that always been UM trademark. Also, UM should resemble Optimus. Looks like he has wing like Prime too. The only thing I don't like is the Viagra missiles!

At least he's not all ott with the spikes. My rule for figures in the BH line is that they can't be all silly and spikey. So he joins Smokescreen on my list of guys to get so far.

It looks like a Blue and White Optimus Prime wearing armor on his upper body...
WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT ULTRA MAGNUS SHOULD BE!

Also, Optimus gets the Star Saber and Magnus gets the Forge of Solus Prime? Neato.

I wonder if the chest, shoulder, and wing armor is detachable for reconfiguration in vehicle mode? Or if the top of the cab is freakishly modified in transformation?

I'm not digging it. I really like the RID mold that he got, and I don't want him reduced to a Prime clone unless there's some explanation for it in the fiction.

Greetings, not-so-Ultra Magnus.

I absolutely love the RiD Magnus, but if Hasbro are falling back into old ways with the character then I can't help ask what was the point in the Rid one?

Magnus has gone from the one PRIME character I HAD to have to the one character I may well skip. I just hope he won't still transform into a long nose truck. :-(

Because the PRiD mold is awful? I certainly won't miss it, what with the absurdly TINY shoulder struts, obnoxious back kibble, and weirdly proportioned legs. :lol:
