President-prime wrote:I think hasbro got you people into gripping over insignificant points on a toy. Seriously, they raised their voyager prices from 19.99 to 24.99, and all you guys talk about is how cheap the toy is at toys r us.
Ever consider the hype at the beginning about the first edition stuff was a ploy to change your mindset, of raising the price on you and make you feel like your getting a good deal. I'm not talking about people who shell out 50-60 bucks for a 20 bucks toy.
You guys just couldn't wait, knowing full well that they will release these figures in some form or another, ie exclusives or later in different packaging.
It's kind of like oil price increases. When they want to raise oil prices by 30 cents, they went overboard and raise the price by 1.00. Everyone complains. Then, Prices slowly go down...then, raise it up again until its at 30 cents more than the original. At least the raise wasn't 1.00 more, you say. Well, the original intent was .30 anyways .
Hasbro got you guys good. Hype up toys, bury them for awhile, bring out newer batch, then release first edition. How rare is that! Everyone picks it up. Hasbro makes a killing. Toys r us makes a killing. they win! I think that's some genius work from Hasbro's marketing dept. and here you guys make it seem like its the rarest toys.
President-prime wrote:I agree. But like I said, certain toys stores know how to raise prices without us complaining. Look at target and Walmart. Kind of crazy just randomly picking a price to raise. I haven't been to Walmart or target for toys in over 3 months. Why go there? Their prices are higher than toys r us now. I can just stay home, order online for free shipping, and not worry about the fuss or gas money. It's especially true now that I'm actually collecting the higher end stuff and not worry about the crappy cheap plastic deluxes, that are coming out. Oh, and by the way. Thank you Seibertron.com For the new toy news.
