He's fine to me, I mean he HAS been at war for millions of years, watched his home planet die, and the being he thought to be like a brother cause all this. He's lost a lot, but remains stoic and strong. I know it can be argued that the other Autobots are veterans too, and "why do THEY show more emotion?" Well, I suppose that, yes, they have had their own past saddening events, but Optimus was involved with Megatron at the beginning of all of this, so this war is more personal.
Beneath all that, he still has the honor, qualities, and compassion that make him Optimus. That's my two cents on this matter. Sure, Movie Prime may have these cool flashy moves and kicks butt in his fights, but he shows even less emotion than this one does. I suppose the writing of the films doesn't help with that though... In my personal opinion, this Optimus is perhaps my favorite Optimus next to G1, he has a good origin, some of that G1 quality, and kicks butt too. He's an all around great character to me.
On topic, I am looking forward to what Dreadwing will bring to the table!
I have to agree with you. This version of Prime is a very good. Reminds me a lot of Prime from WFC. Not a lot of emotions, doesn't get excited easy, calm demeanor but can turn up the heat when necessary. The way he presents himself is very powerful I think. Yea the show can be a little boring but it is doing a lot better than other transformers shows....cough, cough, Energon, cough, cough....
