I also really appreciate that his chest is not just a fake cockpit. I'd be tempted to pick this up even though I don't have any intention of buying any RID figures.
But it is fake - or do you mean the whole thing isn't just a fake cockpit?

I mean that his chest is actually made of the cockpit, not a "Faux Parts" design like the Takara Slipstream, whose cockpit is fake, or the Classics Optimus mold who uses a different grill-abs design than the vehicle mode.

I think one of the writers said Starscream was killed by Predaking at the end of "Predacons Rising," with his arm showing up in Predaking's lair during the RID tie-in comics.

So what do you think of the new seeker mold?

Well, I can only speak from what I can see in Down_Shift's photos, but...I'm not impressed. The robot mode looks good...from the front. The overall shape, the wings and the shoulder pads are all cool but he's so damned hollow it isn't funny. The legs, the arms, the back, even the HEAD is hollowed out. Also, the headsculpt is (IMO) seriously ugly.
The jet mode looks OK from the top but holy undercarriage junk, Batman! The shoulderpads make the wings utterly useless and the hollowness continues unabated.
Also, the plastic has the "metallic swirl of doom" which at best makes him look horribly cheap and at worst is potentially a signifier of the figure crumbling to bits in a few years.

Not necessarily. Their prices for Titans Return toys were quite normal. They are just jacked up in peak seasons (which is not he case now). Last year's Clash of the TF exclusive TRU figures were even cheaper than the regular releases. Also, this was found at canadian tru.
Pretty sure she's referencing our TRU's jacking up the prices to scalper levels, don't entirely remember if rid is suffering as badly as the cw figs, which were at $23 when I was there a couple weeks ago, but I definitely won't pay $23 for any of these
