They dont want kids to get frustrated about transformation anymore. They seem to want to bring it back to the simpler G1 days of discovering new toys that arent difficult to convert back and forth and play with.
Ya, let your kids "cut their teeth" on these, and break the crap out of them. That way when they're old enough to handle yours, they know what they're doing.

That's what I use all the armada, energon, and cyberton toys for. I've always hated those three lines with a passion, but at the time I felt like a bad collector if I didn't pick them up. Plus, this was before marriage and kids, so I still had disposable income. They've been in a junk chest for years, but now I finally have a use for them. So far my 2 year old has only broke 3 of them.

Hey, Energon and Cybertron had some really good/great toys in them (Armada had a few, but not nearly as many good ones as its successors).

They always felt cheap to me. As if Hasbro was trying to take the easy way out. Plus, I've always liked my transformers to have realistic alt modes. The story lines in those shows never overly appealed to me, so I never developed an attachment to the characters. I did with G1 because I was a little kid and loved toy commercials. I loved beast wars because it was a great story. The unicron trilogy was the first time I started to actually feel like a grown ass man playing with toys. Hell. If it hadn't have been for the Binaltech and Masterpiece lines, and eventually classics and generations, I might have left the fandom altogether.
Animated was a step in a better direction. From what little I saw of it, the Prime cartoon was much better still. Sadly, that is about the time I feel like Hasbro really started slipping in the quality control department.
The two CW figures I've gotten so far seem like a huge improvement, but I haven't held one of these rid figures yet.
And yes, I get that this is a kiddie show solely aimed at kids. I just hope my kids don't like it. If they do, so be it, but so far they really like my G1 DVDs that I play for them.

I really like what we've seen of the toys thus far but the views on my reviews aren't stellar. I'm hopping once the cartoon debuts more people will hop on the train or I might have to pass on a great deal of this line.

Clarification from Toy Fair on why the Tiny Titans seem to have G1 characters mixed in with RID characters -
On the showroom floor, (Jerry) Jivoin clarified that the Tiny Titans line is in fact a mix of characters from different universes, despite the packaging being Robots in Disguise-themed. This was done to both draw in fans of other Transformers series and to beef up the character assortment.

When Bisk comes out as a Warrior-class figure, I suspect that he's altmode will look exactly like this, just like the one shown in the cartoon:

We haven't seen what alternate mode he'll assume on earth psj.
And while RID15 vehicles are quite cool, almost none of them truly reflect alternate modes from real life. Yeah, Sideswipe looks like a lambo, but he's not an exact duplicate. Chances are, like with Steeljaw, he'll assume some sort of futuristic vehicle form that reflects his design. Yes, it might be muscle-car-like, but not a true classic vehicle.

Re: Transformers Robots in Disguise (2015) Products Thread
Madeus Prime, we`re only talking about Bisk, and not Steeljaw or Sideswipe. Steeljaw already has a vehicle mode. Steeljaw is a futuristic monster truck. Bisk is a muscle car that is based on mid-1960s Pontiac GTO, but way more futuristic than the actual one. As a figure, is it likely that Bisk will be a much bigger muscle car than Bumblebee himself? From what I can tell from the preview clips and images from the show, its seems that Bisk is a much bigger, taller, wider, and more muscular figure than Bumblebee, Sideswipe, Drift, Jazz, and Clampdown combined.

Oh god, this again?
LOOK, biggest vehicle mode of all the present characters that we've seen belongs to Underbite. He's the largest Decepticon that we've seen, thus far at least, in robot and vehicle form.
Didn't you read how I worded my reply?
Madeus Prime wrote:Chances are, like with Steeljaw, he'll assume some sort of futuristic vehicle form that reflects his design. Yes, it might be muscle-car-like, but not a true classic vehicle.
When I say, "like with Steeljaw" I meant that his vehicle mode won't be based on anything in particular.
Steeljaw is based on a generic armored car, Clampdown is based on a generic older race coupe, therefor, Ped is based on a generic tanker-truck, Terrashock is based on a generic dump truck, therefor, following the trend, Bisk will turn into a generic futuristic muscle car with a general look of one without truly being based on a real one.

Madeus Prime, wait a second. I thought that Terrashock is supposed to a garbage truck. I don't get it. Is Terrashock really a garbage truck or a dump truck? Can you tell which one is which?
Is Underbite is supposed to be a tank? By the looks of it, he does look a lot like a tank to me much more than a car.
And also Steeljaw is actually a car and not a truck!? What's going on here? I don't understand.

That was a typo, I apologize, he is a garbage truck psj.
Underbite is supposed to be some sort of Cybertronian battle car (think Batman's tumbler, a fast but brutally destructive vehicle)
Steeljaw, in my opinion, and psj, this is from my point of view on his alternate mode, going by the toy, I would whole heartedly judge him as an armored car. And to be fair, there isn't much difference in the definition of a truck and car dude, one usually has a bed for carrying stuff (for example, Strongarm is for sure a truck but Bumblebee is for sure a car)

Video Review - Transformers Robots in Disguise One-Step Changers Wave 2: Grimlock, Steeljaw, Fixit
- Motto: "Till All Are Pun!"
Fellow Seibertronian chuckdawg1999 brings us our first proper look at the second wave of Transformers: Robots in Disguise One-Step changers - and actually sounds quite positive about the new version of Steeljaw and Grimlock, plus the first toy we have of new character Fixit. Check out the embedded clip below for more!
While many collectors pass on these toys due to their simplistic nature, I think they're missing out on some fantastic engineering. There are three figures in this wave and each one features its own, unique transformation. I think most people will go for Fixit since that's the new, kid friendly character, but Grimlock and even Steeljaw have something to offer.

Congrats man! Fatherhood is the single greatest and most rewarding journy a man can take. No feeling on earth compares to your child looking up and smiling at you. You'll find the kids laughter to be the sweetest music you've ever heard. That first time you gaze on your newborns face, you'll finally start to understand the true meaning of life.
That said, get as much sleep as you can now. Trust me on this.
