Did that ROTF BB toy not have a regular release? What's the difference with the previous release of that mold?

Technically, since it is #74 and #72 Bumblebee Starscream is barely up for pre-order, this is the first release, no?

Oh, I didn't realize this had been released as SS49. I was going by the numbers on the new boxes and the fact that the other three had their original entry numbers, I assumed this was new. I guess the inclusion of the Sam figure warrants a number change?william-james88 wrote:What's the difference between this and ss49 mold wise?

The deco.

Plus, they updated the vehicle to the 2010 concept, while #49 has the 2008 one from the first movie.

The grill, hood, and side panels with the tires have been remolded for the ROTF version of the Camaro. The yellow color is more orange-ish and accurate, and the gray of the original figure has been replaced with a lighter gray.

You gotta keep in mind that Bumblebee was the horse that drew the movie's carriage, plus the movie also serves as a motor vehicle advertisement, mostly from GE. As such, Bumblebee has no less than 10(!) vehicle modes total, one for every Camaro model year featured throughout the 5 main movies (at least 7!), his Cybertronian modes, WWII and Beetle. And they all need to be represented at least once.

Thanks for the breakdown, I had not caught that (granted, not much of a car guy).

You say that but the best selling tf toy of 2017 was this bumblebee figure below, a poor redeco of an older Bumblebee mold, which actually sold out at initial retail even though fans mostly ignored it AND prices had gone up by 33% globally.

Well, I will get the RotF Bee and 76 Camaro bee, unless I somehow get Charlies garage then I'll just get RotF Bee

The important part is they included a small Sam Whitwicki that you can have transformers step on and smash.

Not if you already have them, only one appears to be different. I'm assuming the rerelease is an opportunity for those who missed out. I'd rather buy one of these than pay eBay prices for the original release.griftimus prime wrote:so no reason to buy any of these.

Actually, 2 out of the 3 have some changes. SS15 comes without all the extras, so if someone only wanted the car and Charlie they now have a cheaper option. WWII been looks to have some cammo painted on vehicle mode now, the original was plain green.
And IF they managed to fix the tolerance issues on Shatter, that would make it 3 for 3. That is the one I'm most curious about. I don't really care about the screen accuracy, it would be a fun toy if it didn't fall a part.

Huh, ok, then that makes it weird the other two still have their original entry number and not a new number like the ROTF Bee with Sam. That's what has me confused.TF-fan kev777 wrote:aronjlove wrote:Not if you already have them, only one appears to be different. I'm assuming the rerelease is an opportunity for those who missed out. I realize that, but the entire Transformers franchise now is becoming, essentially, "Bumblebee and Friends". It worries me that such focus on ONE character (usually we get a nice handful) is going to create consumer apathy at a higher rate than normal. We've been seeing it in the Fandom recently with people wanting more diversity in the characters (G1 redux reduxed and redone again or Bumblebee 24/7/365). Bumblebee can't carry a franchise but it seems like that's the direction we are heading.
