The original Voyager mold (which would be a Leader by today's standards, and scales well with SS Jetpower Optimus from what I've seen - I think I've mentioned this a few times now) already had those:Hellscream9999 wrote:You say that, but hasbro spent two years releasing devastator; they're probably taking some time to design him, since they might give him a new alt mode to accommodate a better looking bot mode that might even have the weird arm struts;
Pretty sure this is why we haven't had him yet.Hellscream9999 wrote:plus if he is going to be a leader class, they have to wait for a slot to open up, since this year is dedicated to mostly the constructicons, they're taking up all three of the leader class slots

Is it weird that seeing this image makes me think that this version could actually be a half decent Bayverse Alpha Trion?Sorta like the blue represents good, to counter the Fallen's orange? Or am I just going insane?

Its kind of like Basic Instinct, but not in a good way...
Goddammit, now I can't unsee it.
Rtron wrote:The only leader sized figures left to do are the Fallen, Grindor, Demolishor, and maybe Scorn if HasTak decides the TLK mold/deco isn't good enough. Dragonstorm and Infernocus may fit the bill too, depending on how they're released, although I think the "army building" method of having a deluxe with all combine modes that someone on this board already mentioned may be more likely for Infernocus. Something similar may happen with Dragonstorm, as there's only 5 somewhat distinct models/decos for the knights.
So, given that the only entirely new mold among the most likely 4 candidates is the Fallen, I'd say we're definitely getting him if there's another year of Studio Series.
It's basically a "cold" color scheme to contrast the "smoldering fire" look of the screen colors.SpikeyTigertron wrote:Gosh... with colors that bad... you'd think i'd remember if bought that version or not... I know... I got one of them... must be the original that was that strange dark green, with the orange highlights. No clue where they ass pulled those purple/blue colors from...

Seriously, I hate alt modes like this. Makes me appreciate Action Masters more!

Better that than give him an alt mode that messes up the bot mode considering it has no kibble or signs of an alt mode to begin with; I mean, would you want a set of jet wings hanging off him? I didn't hate his original alt mode and the extra plastic and parts allotted to the new voyagers and leaders could go a long way to making his ship mode more convincing

Sometimes kibble can be cool, if utilized properly. Examples: the "wings" on the G1 Dinobots; the top of the firetruck flaps on Sentinel Prime; to a lesser extent, the cannon on the back of G1 Scattorshot. If the kibble blends well, it's still kibble but it becomes USEFUL kibble.

Yes. Now go to your room and don't play with yourself.
Deadput wrote:Maybe they don't want to make Grinder because he's way too much the same as Blackout in the movies.
So they likely intend for us to buy 2 Blackouts.
Grindor had the same head as Blackout in the movie, though.D-Maximal_Primal wrote:Deadput wrote:Maybe they don't want to make Grinder because he's way too much the same as Blackout in the movies.

Considering we have gotten new head retools as repaints in leader class before, and considering they are making Leader class figures of absolute nobodies like Overload, I doubt they would really shy away from making Grindor.

If anything, his altmode kibble is what should be retooled since he was a different model of helicopter in the movie than Blackout was.
The thing about Overload is that he's needed for Devastator. So I can understand him getting a toy ahead of Grindor.D-Maximal_Primal wrote:Deadput wrote:Maybe they don't want to make Grinder because he's way too much the same as Blackout in the movies.

Deadput wrote:Their characters or rather the idea of their characters are also faves of mine, Dino's cold and dismissive but ultimately heroic personalty and Jolt's rookie like greenness although sometimes on some viewings I pretend that Jolt actually became Que in DOTM due to similar colors, I just head canon on some viewings that he took on a new alternate mode and changed his head appearance because of his admiration of Earth culture, we don't hear Jolt's voice in ROTF so it works fine enough for me even if it's not the canon, it's not my overall choice of how I view Jolt just an occasional thought for marathons to tie up a loose end.
