Oh, I've made no secret of my general disdain for the Bay movies. I find them formulaic and joyless, with predictable cinematography, cardboard stereotype characters, and needless vulgarity. But they have made truckloads of cash, that can't be disputed. So he must be doing SOMETHING right.

Except for TLK. That one bombed at the box office.

They look really good (I’m glad they made them in scale) but I feel like there’s more than meets the eye to them.

Both Arcee’s extra gun and Chromia’s sword-thing don’t appear in the movie, and the stands have a lot of extra tabs and things that don’t have an apparent function.

Man, I think I’m going to be getting the Arcees too. This wave is going to be awesome! It just needs to get here soon.

The shoulder pad looks like it could be a head (as much as any of the heads could be considered having faces anyways), might be a sneaky combiner mode in these yet...or just another cancelled idea. Interesting and I might pick them up at some point (but then I'm going to have to get a SS Prime so they go in his trailer).

There’s not much room in SS Prime’s trailer between the weapons and flight tech, you might be able to cram one or two in the empty spaces but they won’t be able to roll out the back or anything.

Well, I already had Scrapmetal and Hightower by that point, and picked up a Long Haul along the way, so I had enough pieces of Devastator already to make me want to keep going.

From where were you purchasing (and presumably exchanging) your Rampages?

The first four were from Target (the fourth one eventually wound up getting exchanged for Long Haul instead since they had him and didn't have another Rampage), the last two were from Amazon.

the only 2 I didn't succeed in getting were the Arcees and Soundwave, those ones are the ones that surprisingly sold out. Gonna have to find those ones in store, but at least I have secured the constructicons and my last 2 movie 1 Transformers to finish the cast!

Yeah, Blitzwing is probably the only Bumblebee movie design I really like. Jeep Bee was ok, so I'm interested to see how the deluxe looks, but I really dig Blitzwing, The F-4 alt. mode probably helps a lot.

Unrelated, but I came across a picture of someone who transferred the face of WWII Bee to the head of SS-01/Clunker Bee, and it looks SO good. Really hoping the next SS Bumblebee without the mask uses that face with a tweaked helmet (since the WWII helmet's a little different).

Cool! I think the second one is the right combination (or at least really close), it looks a lot like the concept art.

It’s cool that they included that feature, it wasn’t necessary because it wasn’t in the movie but I really appreciate that they went the extra mile and gave them some neat extra functionality.

There are two pieces of news that have been brought to our attention lately, all involving Studio Series figures. First, via site sponsor Robot Kingdom, and their Facebook page, we have in package images of Voyager Class Movie 1 Megatron and Mixmaster. This marks the first time we've seen this version of Megatron in his packaging, though as Seibertronian D- Maximal_Primal points out,

the movie 1 toy has the 2nd movie torso and the art on the box is the first movie body with the 2nd movie head

Accuracy issues aside, it's notable that this version of Megatron also barely fits in his box as well- looks like he'll be a large sized Voyager, like his predecessor. Mixmaster on the other hand, is quite a wide figure, taking up a lot of space in his box.





And in other Studio Series news, it appears that a couple of Japanese Twitter users have gotten their hands on figures of Arcee, Chromia, and Elita-1 and managed to combine them. If you'll remember a decade ago, the original deluxe sized versions of Arcee and Chromia had parts on their figures that served no other purpose, but were rumored to have been part of a leftover movie concept that would have shown the three combining. As it is, those features made it into Arcee and Chromia's figures, but Elita-1 was relegated to a redeco of Chromia's figure, so the concept was nixed.






























Whether these Studio Series figures are officially supposed to combine, or these are just some clever fan modes remains to be seen, but there are some good shots of all three fembots in both modes included. Well, Megatron’s render is something else but Mixmaster’s render is super cool looking. Wonder where they got it from, maybe the DOTM Game? It has that kinda look to it.

I don't really like the way Elita-1's cycle mode hangs off of the back of the combiner, but other than that it looks great.
