Might be time to call it quits then. More and more figures are being made with the stuff across all lines. After a quick glance and off the top of my head, Hightower is the only recent figure I've gotten without the stuff (including Siege).
I feel like it's only painted clear (white clear, not colored clear) plastic; I found it happens most in the car formers cuz the entire car body shell is made out of it and then painted, and the paint probably causes extra friction with the pins, or the plastic just can't take the strain of the pins while being that thin
I dig, but I was referring to any figure that uses clear plastic (painted or not) as part of a joint (either pinned, clipped or ball joint). Just seems to becoming more and more common. It's a shame clear plastic is just so damn cool.
Sure is cool, but its lack of flex compared to other colors (it's still all ABS) kinda restricts its overall use. Hasbro/TakaraTomy are well aware of that: why do you think Combiner Wars has
no clear plastic outside TT's Groove and its retools?
