:???:

Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of the live action films either, like I'm sure you and most of us here are, but even I have to say...why the hell are you so quick to jump the gun on this?

It's...a trailer. They're showing us something that happens in the movie so that whoever watches the trailer will be interested in learning "whoa, what's the story behind that?" and go buy tickets to see the film when it premieres. The same "bewilderment" of Bumblebee reassembling himself could go toward why "all of a sudden", "FIVE MOVIES IN", Optimus Prime has decided to beat the sh*t out of Bumblebee, or why "all of a sudden" Megatron's back. In all cases, they're curveballs put into the trailers to show something "exciting" that happens in the film, and we'll get the other half of the story when we see it.

Or with this franchise's track-record of writing, a quarter of the story added to the already present of quarter of the story, because the other half was shredded for being too good a film. >:oP

Started out a bit boring. Then that thing with Bee happened...

I wish they didn't show that. I should stop watching all the Transformers trailers for each movie and spoiling all the cool stuff. That's why Age of Extinction was so boring to me is because it was mostly a VERY extended version of all the trailers combined.

Though, in any sane world, he'd be going to jail for the robot uprising he put the pieces together for, or at least be neck-deep in dealing with all the serious hits his company would be taking after KSI helped give Galvatron the army he needed to wreck Hong Kong.

Ah, thank you for enlightening me that one having a different opinion from yourself, and pointing out nonsense with elements of snark and bewilderment, equate to "throwing a fit".

Speaking of KSI, I'm still shocked that the Autobots basically forgave Stanly Tucci and his company for being responsible for the execution of Ratchet and half of their forces on Earth and then profiteering off their dissected corpses.

I loved the reference back to stealth force with Bee shooting Barricade. He like half transformed and it was pretty cool!

Also, yeah we may be tired of Bee, but I really think I'm going to love him in the movie. WWII body, back to his wings, Waspinator/Mark 42 tricks, and a hammer. So few transformers get a hammer and I love it. I do really love it

I am pretty sure it is the side of the truck mode, between the hood area and the front wheels/fenders the forms the chest for Prime. That little silver piece on the chest gives it away, along with his Transformation in AoE for the first time in new body form.

Yeah with that stuff as well as him taking a more back seat role in AOE (Compared to Prime and Hound the latter who was pretty much the Bumblebee for that movie) I'm starting to tolerate him more and him and Prime are starting to climb up my favorites ranks compared to before where I never really cared either way for them because they were generic main characters.

Really? Bee had a reduced role in that film especially with Sam not being in it.

The whole first half of the final battle was just Hound with Bumblebee not being in it that much so really Hound was more important and he did more interaction with humans then Bee did.

I just watched the film last week so all of this is fresh in my mind.

I said responsible. Stanly Tucci wanted transformium, creating demand for transformers corpses. Stanly Tucci also promised Cemetery Wind's director (forgot his name) financial kickbacks in return for transformers corpses. I also highly doubt the company would have been able to complete their research and product development using live transformers (how do you harvest transformium from a live robot?).

KSI might not have pulled the trigger, but Stanly Tucci was bankrolling the killings and is very guilty.

But you said he was responsible for executing them which is false all he did was have people melt bodies that were brought to him down and was going to make a profit.

The Autobots know he's a jerk but he isn't a monster and heck they have had ex Decepticons among their ranks (Jetfire, Wheelie, possibly Brains and Drift) and they have a bunch of rather aggressive people (Ironhide, Sideswipe, Wrecekrs, AOE Autobots) so really they can't complain without being hypocritical.

There's not much to be angry about since Joshua helped them in the end and helped Cade's family get a new home at some point.

So BB is Iron Giant now? lol

I really miss the more "realistic" approach of the first two, even 3 movies. But now they do stuff that's just plain cartoonish while trying to be super serious at the same time. I think Brad Bird or someone could make better use of the dinobots and bots that magically regenerate.

I gotta admit this is the first time I've actually been excited about a Transformers film since the first one! Sure it's batshit crazy but you know thats what I like about it, the franchise was begining to take its self far too seriously. Transformers Knights, WW2 and crazy reassembling all kinda feels like the sort of madness we saw in G1 Season 2, bring it on.

starting to get the sinking feeling again after that trailer.

the humans look to be as obnoxious and despicable in the usual way only Bay can make em.

for the first time i came away wishing the whole film could've been set in either the medieval or WW2 era so as to remove any chance of bays notion of "people" being inflicted on us.

megs finally has an aproximation to his fusion cannon which is something and i do have vague hope for the action sequences.

but you can smell another 3hr bum number that makes no sense with and over reliance on marky mark coming a mile off.

and im REALLY worried about grimlock in this now.

Interview with Transformers: The Last Knight Producer Ian Bryce

Postby Va'al » Thu May 18, 2017 12:09 pm

Motto: "Till All Are Pun!"
In other Transformers: The Last Knight news, we have a new piece by Empire magazine featuring an interview with Paramount's robot franchise producer Ian Bryce! The full piece can be read here, but we've selected some snippets below on his collaboration with Michael Bay, the effects, the locations they used for the movie, and the future of the franchise. Check it out!

How would you describe what you do with Michael?

It’s sort of my job to help guide him and show him how we can get there efficiently. But he’s got a really good tummy himself. He knows what his day is and then I help manage the big picture for him and figure out how to get him from one place to the other, getting through it on time. Mike is prodigiously fast. The minute he arrives he starts shooting and he doesn’t stop until he goes home. For the size of movie and the scope and scale of the movie, our schedules are very competitive.

[...]

What was it like working on the Arthurian battle?

It was really fun actually, because neither one of us had done it. If you’re fans of movies like Gladiator, The Longest Day, any period battle sequences... The trick for us was to figure out how to give it the scale that the movie deserved and fitted in a financial box that was necessary. We made the battle quite a bit bigger than originally intended, just because we felt that being part of the opening sequence of the movie we really needed to grab the audience’s attention. It was shot in three days but we jammed a lot of stuff into that sequence with horse stunts and archers and fire and spinning balls, the trebuchet. We got a lot in there.

[...]

What are your thoughts on how this Transformers universe is opening up and spiralling out?

The Bumblebee spin-off is scheduled to shoot this summer and release next year. The conceiving of it was done previously, back in the writers room, so now they’re beginning to execute that. I think each one is somewhat reliant on the last one. If this movie is well received then you make that judgement when the movie comes out and push to the next movie. It’s been that way throughout the franchise, we never really committed to the next one until the last one came out and we saw what happened. We’ve taken a one step at a time approach, trying to be faithful to the audience. If they still love it, we keep doing it.

Grimlock was already confirmed by the producer to serve as comic relief, so set any expectation you have of properly utilising him to an all time low.

He does get action scenes though and although we have not seen it yet some people got to see him and Slug take out some human vehicles.

Also they never said he would only be comedy relief he and the other Dinobots are knights after all I'm sure they will come into play.

Yes. Now go to your room and don't play with yourself.
