Marvel introduced Deaths Head III, so that's probably a reason they're reluctant to give him up. Additionally, he's been a part of stories in recent years. So he's out there, and ready to appear whenever they want him.

but i gotta say THIS would get me in the door.

i really liked ROMs comic back in the day and the notion of autobots fighting someone that ISNT decepticons/humans ?

at least its new.

first time ive been actually excited in a good while.

To be fair the Burton movies didn't need a reboot (talking about the first two here, as for the other two, there was far too much meddling involved from outside sources), I never cared about the Nolan movies and i can't muster up any feeling about the new batman. There's not enough fun there.

That being said, if the hasbro universe is coming with the last knight then I think we can kiss any idea of a reboot away. Best we can get is if the movie designs started to change into what forms we like to see them in.

sorry i shoulda been more specific. i meant in terms of burtons "style". while i think the keaton batmans are great craic the butron gothic style is just too weird and off putting to me. one of the things i enjoyed most about the nolan stuff is it looked like it was set in the real world and the characters looked like believable versions of their iconic selves.

and your right. they DIDNT need to do a reboot, the last one - hated as it is - made only 30 mill or so LESS than the first batman. so they coulda milked it for another few films yet. but someone called time on that aesthetic

thats what i'd like to see happen with transformers. im honestly sick to death of optimus prime being the ONLY recognizable transformer in this franchise . we know from him that they can do it but steadfastly refuse to do so. i mean jesus i still weep at the nonsense that was starscream in this series. at the very LEAST we should be getting a proper bucket headed megatron with a fusion cannon by now. but nope. i actually wouldnt put vagina face out of the running when your dealing wtih bay.

going back to the ROM thing.

i think the reaction of a few posters here indicates why this may actually have legs. if hasbro want to do a ROM film, and they do, than intro-ing him in a flim series that regularly makes a billion plus worldwide is a hell of a way to get exposure for the guy.

plus weve seen that work in marvel films already so it looks like a no brainer. HOW they do it is another thing but hey at least its not a FIFTH hi way scene in a row.

Casual glance, ROM seems really similar to the Transformers -- alien robot that fights shapeshifting alien badguys, and of course now Transformers are literal space knights. Doesn't seem like viable spin-off material, much less on top of the Bumblebee spin-off. Marvel goes for totally different themes/aesthetics with each of its films, Star Wars has the sense to explore something other than Jedi in its upcoming spin-offs, this just doesn't seem like it'll work very well.

You say prime is the only recognisable one but that's from the g1 perspective, after all how many characters from the unicron trilogy look like their g1 counterparts. what's interesting is looking at what the movies did for bumblebee in terms of design.

Probably all the Decepticons he's helped lock up since the Autobot's reinstatement. Attanger said there were fewer than 12 Decepticons still active in AOE. Looks like they've caught most of them.

Note: I know what happens in AOE, but have not seen it yet.

Well I'm fairly certain that means there's 12 or so Decepticons left on Earth. Primus knows how many there are out in space or on board the Nemesis.

if those are the cons that they have scratched off since the last film, Barricade and the others must be running from them maybe :MAXIMAL:

Backing up to the ROM discussion, if anyone really wants to take a look at ROM's comic history without having to go through all 75 issues of his original Marvel Comics run, one can take a look at the "ROMtrospective" videos that Linkara of Atop the Fourth Wall did awhile back. Though the total run time of the videos equates to about 100 minutes altogether, taking an hour and 40 minutes out of one's time to watch these retrospective videos is much quicker than tracking down and reading the original 75 individual comic issues.

Though, disregard the little bit at the beginning of the first video during the first minute and a half in which Linkara gives his robot, Pollo, a new voice, as that bit was related to one of Linkara's ongoing storylines that had nothing to do with the actual subject of the video. It was merely done because having little segments for Linkara's own storylines at either the beginning or ending of his video reviews is just something that he does every once in a while (but very rarely nowadays).

And, also disregard the first three minutes of the second video before the theme song, as it's a random set of clips meant to play into a long-running gag Linkara sometimes does with multi-part video reviews, in which he sometimes does "previously on" segments that have nothing to do with the actual review, and instead feature cameos from other Internet reviewers doing random nonsensical stuff just for the fun of it.

Thankfully, the third video doesn't have anything needing to be ignored like the first two.

I don't think it's so far-fetched to say that Rom and company are out there on a planet. The shows have always showed a huge wealth of alien's and alien culture; As long as it's well written, I could buy this mash-up :-?

I would love for the Autobots to murder every Decepticon they find in cold blood, but based on the pictures we've seen, it looks like they're doing things a bit more passively. If the pictures we've seen are, in fact of Bumblebee and Hound escorting Barricade and his entourage to captivity.

That'd be interesting to see. Maybe it'll start off with the escort, then lead to a massive jailbreak.

Actually, aren't there supposed to be two storylines for The Last Knight? One with Optimus and the other with the rest of the Autobots? Have there been any sightings of Optimus at all?

Considering Optimus blasted off into space, I feel like his truck mode, if it is filmed in the wild at all, will have to be filmed somewhere set up to look like an alien planet.

I would more choose the words "enthusiastic audience." if there is a movie involved, Sly is slipping in and it's awesome that we do have people who love the movies like that. They got me into Transformers and I really enjoy em. Besides, Barricade murdered Que in cold blood: payback! :MAXIMAL:
