That's why the arms and shoulders are so boxy.
And that's why the toy-based colors look even more odd on that mold than the should. They put toy-based colors on a Kup whose body design is based on one whose colors were more cartoon-based than anything.

Why cant he just be plain old Kup? I cant imagine with that spelling someone else would have that trademarked.

Probably the same power that Ultra Magnus used in one of the Final issues in MTMTE to be blown apart in one panel, and be fine in the next.

Looks like Hasbro and TakaraTomy are still up to their old ways, by releasing the inaccurate deco through Hasbro. Then, the accurate version will be released by TT.
In Kup's defense, his Guidi design has superseded its original AHM use to continue on into more recent works, such as MTMTE (circa Dark Cybertron):Kurona wrote:Sabrblade wrote:It just hit me why the sculpt of this new Kup mold looks so off and blocky. Perceptor also takes a lot of cues from his IDW design originating from AHM; from his gun to his shoulders.
With both of those and that new Drift figure using his old design I can't say I enjoy the idea of continuing influence from AHM...

Takara's really won't be that accurate if they give it a slavishly cartoon-based color layout, since the body design is an IDW-based one.thedistinctroom wrote:Here we go again.

Reminds me of that kup cup:thedistinctroom wrote:Here we go again.

Its not always bad. Sometimes Hasbro does somethign really interesting. Like with Dragstrip. And as for Skylynx, its not like Takara really improved anything there. And Weirdwolf's Hasbro deco is awesome!

1987 movie accurate, or AoE Hound accurate.

Not the same at all. 1986 saw the release of Genesis' Invisible Touch and Peter Gabriel's So.
1987 had Guns N' Roses Appetite for Destruction.
Completely different.
